It's a gorgeous day (and so far, weekend), and it's been busy for us. I'm taking a few minutes to get this card up on the blog before continuing on with our Memorial Day weekend fun.
I made this card for a friend's birthday, and decided to make a couple more to have on hand. I never seem to have many cards made for male birthdays and occasions. I think this also lends itself to any non-occasion card-giving - just a thinking of you or wishing someone well. Or just as a note card if you leave the inside blank.
I used the Mojo Monday sketch challenge , and entered it there. Check it out and see all the lovely entries! I love the sketches at Mojo Monday blog each week.
The stamp is from Our Daily Bread. I used distress ink to sponge around the Spellbinder's die.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Now I'm off to catch the last few minutes of daylight and enjoy the fruits of my labor in my garden while hubby and I have a glass of wine on the deck. Have a peaceful evening friends.

There Is A Season - Spring Card
I was in a card-making mood last night. Been struggling with a cold since last Sunday, and feeling miserable. While surfing the web and checking out some of my favorite blogs and challenges, I decided to get busy and make a card for a couple of challenges that really caught my eye from Our Daily Bread and Mojo Monday.
Here is the inspiration photo for Our Daily Bread blog's Mother's Day Gifts Inspired challenge here. The challenge was to make a card inspired by one of the Mother's Day gifts in the photo. I chose # 2, as I had this cheery, colorful patterned paper which I am crazy about that had those colors in it, and couldn't wait to use on a card. It was a scrap piece given to me by a friend, so I don't know the manufacturer....I just know it called to me.
I also love the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday's blog here so decided to use it for my card. This is the sketch .
I had fun with this card, and kept things much, much more simple than I usually do. I am starting a card ministry at my church, and need lots of cards to send to people who are in the hospital, nursing homes, and shut-ins. It's difficult for me to streamline my style, but I must. They need to fit into the envelopes without a lot of bulk. Then, there is the time factor. There are a lot of people, so I need to keep things clean and simple to crank out enough cards to send to all. And here's the card....
I'm pleased, however, with the result. I was sooooo tempted to add just a little more bling here, some lace there, and oh so tempted to plop on one of my bows....but, I restrained myself. Now, let's see how long I can keep it up.
And the inside.
Now I'm going to actually try to take a nap!!! I never do that, but I've already cleaned, made soup, hung out my sheets to dry on the line, worked in my garden for an hour and a half, and got this blog up. And my buddy and I are going to see South Pacific at the Auditorium Theater tonight, so I want to be refreshed and hopefully NOT coughing and sniffling.
Oh, I DO love having Fridays off from work!
Blessings,
lynda
