One of my fondest memories of growing up was the clothes line behind our house. My dad hooked it up to pulleys and the line ran from the back porch to a post further out in the back yard. I loved hanging the laundry, and rolling it out and in. I especially enjoyed smelling the clean, crisp clothes when we picked them.
When I saw this IMPRESSION-OBSESSION stamp, I just had to have it!
STAMPS: Impression-Obsession Nature Walk
Impression-Obsession LEAF SET (Happy Fall verse)
I stamped the Nature Walk stamp with VersaFine Clair Nocture ink onto cream card stock, then water colored it using distress inks in fall colors. When dry, I fussy cut along the bottom. On the card front, I used a make up brush to softly apply distress ink in rusty hinge. I also distressed a scrap with the same color, which I stamped the verse onto.
I foam-mounted the fussy-cut leaf-line to the top of the card, the verse to the bottom, then spritzed it all with more distress ink. Oh...I also wrapped string (which I had dyed with ink) around the bottom verse panel to mimic the line for the hanging leaves. Some dark beige pearls finish the card.

IMPRESSION-OBSESSION stamps:
Nature Walk

It's definitely fall in upstate New York! The leaves are ablaze with vibrant colors, and pumpkins adorn porch steps and front gardens.
The stamp I chose for today's card has some of each.
IMPRESSION-OBSESSION has really captured fall with this delightful stamp, PUMPKIN MOUSE..
I started by stamping the image and coloring it with Polychromos colored pencils. I added some grass with some flicks of my green shades. For the leaves along the top of the card, I stamped the image two more times, and colored and fussy-cut the leaves.
I added two to the top of the frame and image, and three over the leaves along the bottom of the image to give them dimension. I also stamped the butterfly portion again and added that over the image for dimension.
I used the SQUARE SHAKER FRAME DIE for the frame over the image, and attached it to the card with foam tape.
The card background was stamped with the FANCY LEAVES stamp, which I inked with Wild Honey distress ink and stamped off to get a light impression so the background would not detract from the image. I added a green cardstock panel with embossed leaves to bring more green into the card for balance.
The SENDING CHEER stamp is from the LAYERED PINECONE CLEAR STAMP SET.
Since I love to color, and find colored pencil coloring very relaxing and satisfying, I love working with images like this. But I was thinking that it would also work well for quick and easy cards. Just a splash of watercolor, or even just embossing it in a light color on dark cardstock...hmmm. Just something to think about.

Today I have a Christmas card for our canine lovers! This adorable stamp is one of the stamps from the Technique Junkies October release.

For my card, I created the background by adding ColorBox pigment ink to an embossing plate, and ran it through my Cuttlebug onto a white card stock panel. This transferred the ink onto the card stock panel.
Next, I sprayed the Dazzle Shimmering Bliss onto it to give it shimmer and sheen. The Dazzle is a 'topper,' which gives the panel shimmer. It is really 'dazzling' in real life!
For the image panel, I stamped the doxie onto white card stock. I 'inked' it with Arteza real brush markers. That left the dog part uncolored, so I used the markers to watercolor him. I added lime distress ink along the edges, added some ribbon, and layered the card onto a lime green card. A satin ribbon and some pink punched snowflakes finishes it off.

It's October...and time for halloween cards. I made this one for some challenges today.
I'm usually not too much into halloween, but I had so much fun making this card! I used stamps from Technique Junkies. These are the stamps I used:
Ephemeral Crow
Fright Night
French Text
Be Scary
Happy Halloween
I also used the Classic Harlequin Stencil.
To make my card, I used distress oxide inks with a blending tool to create a colorful background. When that was dry, I embossed the Ephemeral Crow over it with black embossing. I colored it with distress inks. I added some background interest with the Classic Harlequin Stencil and parts of the French Text French Text background here and there.
I added the background to a black marbled cardstock panel, then onto an A2 card. Some shimmery purple and black embroidery floss and some black bead swirls from Prima finish off the front of the card.
For the inside, I stamped the Happy Halloween and the Be Scary onto a scrap of white card stock, and tore the edges for effect, sponged on some color throught the stencil, and added the panel to the inside. I had a couple of strips of the front panel left from when I trimmed it down, and added those to the inside also.

I stamped the flower image onto Strathmore bristol vellum card stock with distress ink in Antique Linen. I used my Misti for stamping, and chose the light color so I could visualize the flower as I added other colors. I used the mini distress ink cubes, adding first the lightest color, then increasing in intensity as I went along. I used a damp paint brush to move the color around just a little, to try to achieve a watercolor look, yet maintain the shapes and details in the petals and leaves. I repeated stamping, adding colors and a little water as I went along.
I added some colored pencil when it was dry to deepen the shadow areas. For the verse, I embossed it in black onto vellum, and attached it. I added some black splatters and a black shiny card stock strip along the edge to bring in more black to balance the verse. A little sparkle from my Spectrum Noir shimmer pen adds that special something something to the petals. That's it....easy-peasy!
