I have two cards for your inspiration today.

For my first card, I used:
Lilacs JT017
Wedding Wishes SS102

I stamped the Lilacs onto Canson watercolor paper, and watercolored it with Daniel Smith watercolors.  When it was dry, I created the background by wetting the entire area around the flowers, then dropped in greens and purples and let the colors blend.  I had a piece of scrap watercolor paper, and did the same to that.

I cut the dried panel to fit my card, then outlined it with my Krylon 18 kt. gold leafing pen.  I mounted this onto a purple panel, giving it dimension by raising it on a piece of fun foam.  Then I added it onto a white A2 sized card.

On the strip I had prepared, I stamped the verse from the Wedding Wishes set with fern green Ranger archival ink.  I lined the strip with some gold shiny cardstock, and wrapped some gold cording around it, and added a bow.  I attached this to the image panel with foam mounting tape.

Some sequins finish off the front.

And here is the inside:

And now on to card 2:
Stamps:
Floral Border SD914
In Full Bloom Sentiments Set of 6  SS105

I stamped the Floral Border  onto Canson watercolor paper with antique linen distress ink.  I like the way this ink just fades into the coloring when I want a no-line look.

I stayed with watercolor for this card also.  I have really been enjoying my watercolors lately.  I started by adding a very light wash in a couple of the flower petals, and then working that to deeper color by dropping in deeper colors at various points as they dried.  When the flowers and leaves were all painted, I used a fairly dry brush to add in some shading and details.  Finally, I added a bit of Polychromos colored pencils for the deepest shadows.

The verse is from last month's release, In Full Bloom Sentiments .  I love the six verses in this set, and the scripts are all so lovely.  I stamped it with VersaFine Claire nocturne.

Some antique linen distress ink along the edges for distressing, with some striped patterned paper, and some black spatters finish off the panel.  I attached it to a coral panel, then onto a white A2 card.

And for the inside:

Oh, and this month's free with $30 purchase stamp is Like To PartyAnd here's a quick little card, because I just couldn't stop myself...

I used I Like To Party (I did a little surgery on the stamp), Vogue Kitty, Stencil Rings, and Classic Harlequin stencil.

I hope you are inspired by my cards today.  Would you like an extra 10% off your order today?  Just use my code, TJ10Lynda.  That's 10% on top of the 15% on the new release stamps, for 25% off!!

  1. There is no doubt a lot of time and love went into the making of your cards. They are so very beautiful. Love the layers on your first card. On your second card your colouring comes to life. Your third card is so very much fun. That cat seems to be the perfect stamp for this sentiment.
