Welcome to Impression-Obsession's Old Is New feature. Today we designers bring you inspiration using some of the older stamps. For my card today, I chose the Chinese Lantern....
Chinese Lantern E13185
This Is The Day SS-770-G
I stamped the Chinese Lantern E13185 onto watercolor paper, using crushed olive and wild honey distress ink. I knew I would be using the no-line technique to watercolor these, so I didn't want an outline. The distress inks blend right into the other painting, so they are perfect to use for this technique.
I painted the stamped images with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. I painted in some of the branches and lanterns very lightly with my watercolor brush, and added lots of water so they would fade out into the background, making it appear that they are in the background. My lanterns are in the transition period, where they are part green still, and turning into the lovely bright orange they will eventually become. I love watching them do this throughout the summer.
When dry, I added the verse, and layered it onto an A2 card. I chose to keep it plain, and not add embellishments. I wanted the focus to be on the lanterns. They are my favorite part of my backyard garden.
For the inside:
I stamped the images again, and colored them in the same fashion. I left room for a personal note.
You can see the other designer's projects on the IO blog HERE.
I hope you like my card. Be sure to check out the other designer's projects on the IO blog at the link above.

Impression-Obsesson Challenge - Hot Colors
Welcome to Impression-Obsession's HOT COLORS Challenge! You can find links to all the designer's challenge posts, as well as details about the challenge, on the Impression-Obsession blog HERE.
For my card, I went with the hottest colors of summer....
Silhouette Kitties WP981
Long Berry Branch E20765
Eucalyptus Stem D20752
Cup of Sweet Succulents CL755 (verse)
I created the hot background on watercolor paper by masking off the moon with a circle die cut, then used ink applicators to add red, orange and yellow distress oxides inks, building up the intensity until I was happy.
I used my Misti to stamp the cat and plant images with VersaFine Claire nocturne ink. Since my paper was textured, I like to use the Misti to be able to stamp an image as many times as it takes to get full coverage.
I removed the mask, added some light yellow ink over the circle, and layered the panel onto a black card.
That's it....easy-peasy! I hope you will join us in this challenge. Pull out your hot colors, and come on over and play. You have until August 6th to enter your card/s. Who knows, you just might win a gift certificate to the Impression-Obsession store!
Thanks for visiting!

Little Snow Critters
On this hot summer day, I'm stopping in with a quick CAS Christmas card.
I used stamps from Impression-Obsession's Fall/Winter 2019 stamp release:
Christmas Jar Set WP963
Winter Village Set WP987
Holiday Tree CL973
I created the narrow band on bristol vellum by masking off the area with crafter's tape. Then I brushed some faded denim distress ink into the area, leaving a little uncolored near the center of the strip.
I stamped the trees from the Winter Village Set and the bunnies from the Christmas Jar Set, and colored them with colored pencils. I added the verse from the Holiday Tree set.
On the inside, I stamped some of the critters and snow from the Christmas Jar set.
I hope you like my card today. I know it's difficult to think holidays when it's 80's and 90's outside, but I know there are many efficient, always prepared folks who like to get an early start on their holiday card-making. I wish I was one of them! lol.
I am adding my card to these challenges:
AAA Cards - One layer optional positivity
Simply Less Is More - small images
Watercooler Wednesday - All about occasions
Thanks so much for visiting today. Enjoy these long summer days. All too soon they will be a memory.

Impression-Obsession Die Cut Obsession - Pitcher of Flowers
Welcome to Die-Cut Obsession at Impression-Obsession. We are featuring some of our dies on our design team blogs today. You can find the other designer's blog links on the IO blog HERE.
I decided to fill our pitcher die cut with some flowers from the summer die release.
Enamel Pitcher DIE821-D
Flower Cart Flowers 845-I
Pretty Pitcher clear stamp set WP962
So Lovely MC982
I stamped some of the branches from the Pretty Pitcher clear stamp set WP962 onto white card stock, and added some watercolor around them for the background.
I die-cut the Enamel Pitcher DIE821-D from patterned paper, and added that with foam tape over the arrangement of branches I had created. Then I cut the Flower Cart Flowers 845-I flowers, and colored them with markers, arranging them on the branches and in the pitcher.
I stamped the verse from the So Lovely MC982 set, and added it with foam tape.

I hope you are inspired by my card. Be sure to check out the other designer's cards HERE.

Blue Pear
My card today is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, where the theme is Anything Goes with the option of food or drink. Hope you'll join us this month. Who knows, you just might win a gift certificate from our sponsor, 1,2,3 Stitch! Come on over and play with us!
I recently saw a sign for a little shop called 'The Blue Pear.' I loved that name, and was inspired by it to create, well, a blue pear! So, here it is...
Penny Black stamps: Perfect Pear 40-493, Faith 30-409
I used the Misti to stamp the pear, stamping it with a very pale blue mini distress ink pad. I added deeper and deeper blue-green colors gradually, building up the colors to create depth and dimension with each stamping. This is one of my favorite techniques with the Misti.
I added further depth with colored pencils.
For the background, I used a cotton makeup square to apply pastel chalk in the rust color.
I added some of my favorite PB background designs and script, then added the verse from the Faith clear set, stamping it with Ranger Archival ink in sepia.
Inside:
I am adding my card to these challenges:
The Library Challenge - Be inspired by book name or colors (I went with colors)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Make your own background
Penny Black At Allsorts - Summer colors - blue (ocean) and brown (beach) - both say summer to me!
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I appreciate your comments.

Choose Happy!
Greetings! Just playing with a couple of new stamps from the Impression-Obsession Fall & Winter stamp release. If you have missed the release, you can find all of the fall/winter stamps, and new summer dies on the IO site HERE.
Branch L20755
Sentiments 3219-L
I had so much fun with this card. It has stamping, coloring, and Zentangle....all of which I love to do! I really 'branched out' and tried something different with this stamp.
I stamped the Branch L20755 image into white card stock. I drew some Zentangle patterns inside the leaves and branches with a fine Micron pen. I added some extra circles around the image.
I stamped the verse from the Sentiments 3219-L set onto a scrap piece of card stock, and drew a couple of the same type of leaves, and added patterns inside that.
I colored all of the branch and the verse piece using Arteza Real Brush markers, then created a banner out of the scrap piece, added some black card stock along the bottom of it, and added it to the card with foam tape. I mounted the whole shebang to a black A2 card front.
I hope you like my card, and that it has inspired you to 'think outside the box,' or branch!
I am adding my card to these challenges today:
Allsorts Challenge - Clean and simple
Watercooler Challenges - Masculine anything goes

Old Is New - Eucalyptus Branch
It's Old is New time at the Impression-Obsession blog. All of the designers are sharing projects made with some of our older, well-loved stamps. Today's IO blog post HERE lists all of our designers' links so you can be inspired by all of our projects.
And here's my card for today...
Stamps:
Infinite Beauty C5159
Eucalyptus Branch F13719
I had lots of fun creating the background for this card, and coloring the leaves. I used Caran d'Ache Neocolor II Watercolor Crayons. I started with watercolor paper, and spritzed it thoroughly with water. I added blues, greens, and purples to the panel by adding water to the crayon, and letting it drip onto the watercolor paper. Then I took a large watercolor brush, and manipulated the colors, dripping more on as I wanted the colors to change. It's a messy (but so fun) process. I love the look it created.
When that was dry, I spritzed the Eucalyptus Branch with a mist of water, then colored directly onto it with the crayons, using different colors. I stamped it several times, creating the composition I desired. I also stamped the 'second generation' a couple of times to get the lighter colored leaves for the background.
To color the leaves, I rubbed some of the crayons onto a palette, then picked up the color with a water brush and added it to the leaves.
I tied some fibers from my stash to the panel, and added it to an A2 card.
Inside:
I hope you are inspired by my card. Don't forget to check out the other designer's cards and projects.

Clothed With Dignity
Hello! It's time for another Impression-Obsession challenge. Today's challenge theme is 'Things that fly.'
Stamps: Goldfinch 12190CL (Serendipity)
Hope Set WP990
Eucalyptus Stem 2 E20751
Eucalyptus Stem 1 D20752
Berry Branch E20765
Die: Scalloped Stitched Circles DIE831-YY
I started with a light green A2 card, and stamped the stems and branch onto it, using my Misti. I did go over the images with colored pencils to create more highlights and shading. I brushed some Shabby Shutters ink around where the bird image was going to go.
I stamped the bird image onto Strathmore mixed media card stock, and colored it with colored pencils. I used a die from the Scalloped Stitched Circles to cut it out, then distressed the edges with the same ink. I attached it with foam tape for added dimension.
Inside:
I stamped the verse from the Hope Set on the front, then stamped parts of the set on the inside and colored it.
I hope you like my card, and were inspired to join our challenge. You just might win a gift certificate to the IO store!

I have two cards today, using the Jam Jar and Jam Fruits dies.
Happy Birthday
DIES: Jam Jar DIE827-YY
Jam Jar Fruits DIE828-V
Tag With Tags DIE836-V
Stamp: Happy Birthday 1 C14778
Well, this was a fun card to make! I cut the dies from patterned coordinating papers, and added them to a lavendar card. I stamped the Happy Birthday verse, and added some clear dome embellishments finish it off.
A Gift For You
DIES: Jam Jar DIE827-YY
Jam Jar Fruit DIE828-V
Tag With Tags DIE836-V
Stamp: Gift Tags CL974
And another fun card to make. I cut the dies from various colors of patterned paper, and attached them to a card stock panel. I attached that to an A2 card. I cut the Jam Jar from pp, and added acetate. I cut the jar lid and doily and added them, and the heart-shaped tag with the verse from the Gift Tags clear stamp set from the Fall/Winter release from last week. I added the panel over the fruits background with foam tape.
I hope you enjoyed my cards. Don't forget to leave a comment here and on the other designer's blogs for your chance to win one of four IO gift certificates. You can find the links to their blogs HERE.
