How I made my card:
  • On a white A2 card front, I used distress inks to brush on color for the sky, sun, and ground.
  • I stamped the Blessings in the center, and used Polychromos colored pencils to rainbow color it.
  • Next, I stamped the bunnies from the Share A Rainbow clear set so they appear to be on the Blessings, and colored them with the colored pencils.
  • Finally, I stamped the grass and flowers from the Lilies of the Field clear set, adding color.

And that is my Rainbow Of Color Theme card today.  Don't forget to check out the other participating designer's projects HERE.

Kitties In Flowers With Art Impressions Watercolor Technique

Hello friends!

One of my favorite techniques is the Art Impression Watercolor process.  I love how each piece comes out with it's own personality, and no two ever look exactly alike.  It seems daunting at first, but in very little time, you can master this technique.  You can find many tutorials in this method on YouTube.  You can find a wealth of tutorials on Bonnie Krebs' YouTube Channel HERE.

For my card, I used various stamps from the Art Impressions Watercolor series.  You can check them out HERE.

To 'ink' my stamps, I used Tombow markers.  I started with the basket, and filled it with some greens and flowers.  I left a space for the kitty, than stamped him.  I built up the ground with grass and flowers, and stamped another kitty there.  I added a watercolor ground and sky, and stamped the Thinking Of You.  The full process is explained in the above linked videos.

INSIDE of card:

I am adding my card to the 30 Day Color Challenge at The Daily Marker.
I am also adding it to:
The Paper Funday Challenge - Spring has sprung
Sunday Stamps - Spring bloom
The Flower Challenge - Pretty pastels

Thanks so much for stopping by.  This technique is so fun, and the options are limitless.  I hope you will give it a try.

Blessings,

Hydrangea Gift Card

Hello friends!  My card today features this gorgeous image of hydrangeas in a vase - Hydrangea Gift - from Impression Obsession's April release.

IO Stamps/Die links:

How I made it:
  • On watercolor card, I stamped the Hydrangea Gift image.  I painted the image with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.
  • For the background, I applied water to the card with a thick brush. While it was wet, I dropped in color.  When that was dry, I spattered some water droplets.
  • For the base, I brushed on watercolor paint.
  • I watercolored the Stitched Die cut, and stamped the Many Blessings verse.  I added this to the card front with foam tape.
This stamp so so fun to paint.  I love my hydrangeas, and wish they were the blues and purples that I painted these.  But, alas, I have the wrong type of soil, so they stay pinkish.  But I still love them.

If you haven't already, be sure to check out the other fabulous images in this April release.  You can find them HERE.

I hope you are inspired by my card today.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog.

Blessings,

Gardening Hare Card With Polychromos Colored Pencils

Hello friends!  Just a quick post for today.  It's Day One of The Daily Marker Coloring Challenge.  Normally Kathy runs this for 30 days, but this one time it is only ten days.

I just love this hare with his gardening tools and flowers!  I have had this stamp in my stash forever, and have used it often in the past.  Unfortunately, I do not know what company it is, as it is unmounted from the wood, and I neglected to write down the info.
UPDATE:  The amazing Dina Kowall did some detective work and found this stamp on Ebay.  Here is a link to it:  . https://vlvstamps.com/rabbit-gardener-3-x-3-3-4.html .  It is called Rabbit Gardener.

The card is quick and easy.  I just stamped the hare, and colored him with Polychromos colored pencils.  Polychromos are my favorite colored pencils.  They have strong leads, which do not break when sharpening, and they are terrific for layering.  They do not build up a waxy surface which prevents layering like others I have used.

I hope you find some time to join Kathy Racoosin's coloring challenge at The Daily Marker.  Kathy is very talented, and you're sure to find lots of tips from her work.

I am adding my card to these other challenges:

Paper Funday Challenge - Spring has sprung
Watercooler Challenge - All things masculine
The Paper Players - Color challenge

Thanks for stopping by today.

Blessings,

How I made my card:
  • I created an A2 card from natural card stock.  I used a Deckle Rectangle stencil to brush on some pink distress ink and create an area.  I lightly stamped the Script CAC stamp before removing the stencil.
  • Next, I took the inside portion of the stencil, and placed it over the area I had created.  I used embossing ink with foam applicator to create a border of embossing ink all around the area, then embossed with fine gold embossing powder for a border.
  • I gold-embossed the Happy Birthday verse, and used a graphite pencil to add some shading to the letters.
  • I gold-embossed the Budding Blossom onto a scrap piece of the natural card stock.  I colored this with Arteza Everblend alcohol markers.
  • I fussy-cut the blossom, and added it to the card front, with some gold pearl accents.
  • INSIDE:  I created another distress area as above, and stamped the Beautiful You verse with green ink.  I gold-embossed the Budding Bloom, and added that.
I hope you are enjoying our cards for the April Release.  There are so many fun stamps to work with.  Let me know in the comments which is YOUR favorite!

  • I used a very light wash of watercolor to the petals and leaves, and let that dry.
  • I used Polychromos colored pencils to add shape and definition, shading and highlights to the image.
  • For the background, I used the Brick Wall stencil with distress ink, brushing it on so that it fades out in areas.
  • Finally, I added the Be Still verse.
  • I layered the panel onto a white card front.
