I chose grays for my neutral palette. The stencil flower background is one of ColorBox Art Screens, bloom. The flower stamps are from Wplus9, Fresh Cut Florals, with the Fresh Cut Floral dies. I sponged Tim Holtz hickory smoke and black ink through the stencil, increasing intensity as I went along. The words are from an old Impression Obsession word set I have. The flowers are cut out and layered and dimensional with foam tape.
Looking at this card on the post, I feel like the color knob is all the way off on my computer! I know I will be doing this card again, only with color next time.
It was fun for a change. That's what's great about challenges...it stretches you to do what you are not comfortable with. Hope you will join some challenges this year!
Blessings,
lynda

ReplyDeleteNeutrals are hard for me too, so I think you did a fab job on this one! Also love the idea of the inspiring words on each of the petals. Great design, great use of neutrals, and you certainly met the challenge wonderfully well.TFS & Hugs & HAPPY NEW YEAR
ReplyDeleteI really like the limited colour palette on this card, it's a lovely design... we do like to see a little white space too!

What a fab stencil, love the way you've graduated the ink blending and a great way to add the sentiments. As Chrissie mentioned, we do prefer to see a little more white space but even so, this is really striking.
