A Stamp, A Stencil, And Sparkling Embossing Powder

This Card features some of my older stash...things I love and hold on to, and actually still like to use.
I have used this Hero Arts stamp set quite often (cl303).   I love the high heel stamps and verses in this clear stamp set.

The embossing powder I used is another oldie, but goodie; black opal by JudiKins.  The stencil is much more current, and is the Tim Holtz crackle layering stencil THS039.  I used Tim Holtz distress ink in picked raspberry and a Clarity stencil brush to brush in my stencil background in ombre, and a Tombow marker to color my shoe.  I embossed the word Marvelous (from the same stamp set) with the black opal embossing powder onto a scrap of vellum, and wrapped the ends under the panel.

For the layer under the stamped panel, I rubbed VersaMark ink on the outer edges, then embossed with the black opal powder for a dramatic frame around the panel.
Here is a close up of the sparkle of this embossing.... In real life there are so many rich, fiery sparkles, and such depth to this embossing, which is difficult to capture on camera.
This was a fun card to make.  I chose to keep it clean and simple (for me).  I just think that high heel shoe stamp is so classy and fun, and wanted the focus to stay on it.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Allsorts Challenge Blog - Anything goes

A Blog Named Hero - Clean and simple

Fusion Card Challenge - Pretty in pink

I hope you are making time to do the things you love.  We have had our granddaughters for a few days over the February break, and have really enjoyed them.  The house is so very quiet now that they are gone.  They love to play with my stamps, and they have their own box of markers, pencils, chalks, and inks here for when they come.  This time I showed them how to water color....they loved it.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Hope to see you back here soon.  Hubby will be gone all day tomorrow, so I am going to enjoy having all the time I want to play with my crafting toys!

Blessings,

lynda
