Now, on to my three projects for today.
I have a card, and a pencil box and covered note pad.
Full directions for each are written individually below.

Project 1:  Black-Eyed Susan fall card

Impression Obsession dies/stamps links:
Black-Eyed Susan DIE851-ZZ
Seasons  SSDIE-083-N
Wacky Stitched Circles DIE837-YY
Every Season D20355 (stamp inside)

I'm over-the-top excited about this die set!  I love black-eyed susans, and the way these dies fit together to create the detail on the finished flowers.  My head is swimming with ideas on different ways to use these flowers!

I started with a white A2 card, and added a black die cut circle from the Wacky Stitched Circles die set.  I cut a strip of black and white patterned paper at a diagonal, and added that strip along the left edge.

I die-cut the flowers in the Black Eyed Susan die set from  white card stock.  I used Copic markers to color the petals and leaves, and the detail parts.  Once I had them all colored, I assembled the flowers. I wanted the colors to be strong and vibrant against the black, so I went with bright yellows, oranges, reds, and greens.

I added the flowers to the card front, along the left edge of the black circle.  I die-cut the word Fall, from the Seasons die set, in white card stock.  I added the die cut word to the design.  A couple of liquid enamel dots add the finishing embellishment touch.

INSIDE:
I used the negative portions of the flowers to sponge distress ink through, then added a soft background by brushing the inks onto the background.  I stamped the Every Season verse, then added white die cut layered flowers.

Projects 2 & 3:  Pencil Box and Covered Note Pad

Pencil Favor Box DIE867-UU
Stitch Tag DIE874-Y
Alphabet Plain UC DIE158-H

I used some coordinating double sided patterned paper card stock to die cut the Pencil Favor Box and the panel for the case front.  This way, the pieces coordinate from the front and back.  For example, the inside of the pencil case, and the inside cover of the note pad cover match and coordinate with the rest of the projects.  I assembled the case.  The scores appear in the die cut, which makes it easy to fold and assemble.  For the front panel, I cut two patterns, and used one on top and one on bottom, with a strip of paper between them wrapped around the box.  A flower embellishment and pearl finish off the box.

I used colored pencils in my box.  You could use plain pencils in a coordinating color, or you can cover pencils with a strip of coordinating paper wrapped around and secured.

For the note pad, I used a 4 1/2" x 3" note pad, and made a cover for it.  There is no pattern for this cover, I just cut a piece of patterned paper 6"x 3 1/8".  I laid the note pad onto this paper, with the back side up, and scored it along the top of the pad in front and back.  I wrapped the paper around to the back of the pad, and glued the 2" bit to the cardboard backing.  I cut another piece of pp t 6 x 3 1/8" and adhered that over the back cardboard, covering up the 2" piece hanging over.

I cut pieces from the Stitch Tag Die set and added them to the front.  For the word NOTES, I die cut letters from the Alphabet Plain Upper Case die set, and added them to the banner across the tag.

I hope you are inspired by my projects today.  I tried to make a video, and quickly determined there are a couple of items I need before I continue.  I will try taking sequential pictures of my process for the note pad cover.  I will update this post with them when I am finished.  Let me know if you are interested, and I will let you know when that happens.

Now, hop on over to Susan Wymer's blog for her amazing projects.  Here are links to the other designer's blogs:

Leaf Blessings

http://shrsl.com/1rwr3
Hello, and welcome to my blog.  I'm taking a teensie little break from my behind-the-scenes work, getting ready (by getting ready I mean cutting, coloring, card-making frenzy) for Friday and Saturday's  Impression Obsession Fall Die Release

I wanted to remind you of the IO sale, going on NOW through Monday, Sept. 2nd.  Use THIS LINK to shop at the Impression Obsession store, and the code LABOR, to receive 25% off all products on the IO site.

I created this card a while ago, and wanted to share it with you today.
IO stamps:
Leaf 2  E13817 (front)
Leaf 1  D13818 (inside)
Leaf 3  D13816 (inside)
Take Time To Sit SS-1371-E
Holiday Icons CL980

I started with a white card stock panel, and masked off a square, then added distress inks in fall colors with my color blending brushes.

I added some spatters of the same colors, then stamped the Leaf 2 with VersaFine Claire Nocturne ink, and the bless you with the same ink.

I added the panel to a black A2 card front.

For the inside, I wanted to carry over the look and feel of the outside of the card.  I stamped the leaves with various colors of distress inks, gave them a fine-mist spritz, then stamped them on a white panel.  I then stamped the verse with the Claire nocturne ink.

I placed a mask over the verse, and added distress inks with my blending brushes all around the mask.  Then I traced the mask with a Micron PN pen.

I added some spatters of color, then attached the panel to the card inside.

Now, it's back to my card-making frenzy and fun with the dies. See you in a couple of days!

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you're having a wonderful day, and enjoying these last days of summer if you're in the US.

Blessings,

Now, on to my card.  Today I'm feeling a little nostalgic, hence the vintage feel to my card.  All of my stamps feature Impression-Obsession stamps
Bird Collage 4 E13046
Cover A Card Music CC029
Peony Set WP835

I started with a cream card stock panel, and created the background.  I brushed on tattered rose, victorian velvet, and vintage photo distress inks, then stamped portions of  the Cover A Card Music stamp intermittently in second generation stamping.

I stamped the Bird Collage and pieces of the Peony Set onto another piece of the same cream card stock, and gold embossed them.  I used my sponge daubers to add distress inks to the images, then fussy-cut them, and added them to the background panel I had created.
I dyed some white seam binding by putting distress inks on my craft mat, and added some spritzes of water, then smooshed the ribbon into the wet ink puddles.  I dried it with my heat tool, then added it to the card front, ruching it as I applied it, then added a bow.

A few Studio Katia gold foil pearls finish off the card.

Inside:

I hope you are inspired by my card to create something beautiful.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Impression Obsession At The Beach Challenge

Lovely summertime greetings, my friends!  I had to say it, as summer here in upstate NY is winding down, and I have to get my last bit of 'summerness' in!

Welcome to the Impression Obsession AT THE BEACH challenge!  You can find links to the other designer's posts on the IO blog HERE

My card features a beach, some waves, and a flamingo!
Summer Vibes CL956
Flamingo Set DIE697-W
All-in-One Frames Rectangle DIE291-WW
Leafy Branch DIE055-N

I masked off an area of a card stock panel for the sky, using torn paper and my brush applicator and some torn paper to apply distress ink, creating clouds.

I moved the mask to the sky area to cover it, and tore a piece of paper with a jagged edge to create a mask for the sand for the beach, then applied deeper blue for the water, and browns for the beach.

I used embossing paste and applied dabs of it with my spatula, creating wave crests.  When dry, I added the verse, then the die cuts.

I framed the scene with my favorite frame die set, using the large stitched frame.  I layered the whole shebang onto an A2 white card front.

Inside:
I had fun creating my beach card!  Now, I'm going out to play in my garden for a while.  I think perhaps we may take a ride to the beach later this evening to watch the sun set over the lake!  Sounds like a great plan.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

The Library Craft Challenge

ModSquad Challenge - Travel/Vacation

Thanks so much for visiting today.  Hope to see you at the IO's At The Beach Challenge!  Come on over and play with us!

Die Cut Obsession at Impression Obsession - Butterfly Notes

Welcome to another Die Cut Obsession day, where we showcase some of our fabulous Impression Obsession dies.  You can find links to the other designer's cards on the IO post HERE.   My card today was inspired by the Andy Williams song Pretty Butterfly....
Links to Impression Obsession dies/stamps:
I started with a white A2 card, and brushed some faded jeans and chipped sapphire distress ink onto the left side.  I stamped the Sing word along the left edge twice, once full ink, and then second generation inking.

I die cut the Medium Butterflies die and the Fancy Butterfly from white card stock.  I stamped portions of the Cover-A-Card Music stamp onto the main butterfly and two of the small ones, and colored the antennas blue.  I added the butterflies to the card front, curling the wings up, and added some blue rhinestones.

I stamped the Celebrating YOU verse from the Life Stuff Sentiments stamp set, and white embossed it, then added it with foam tape to the front of the card.  I also embossed the Happy birthday verse from the same set for the inside.

And, the inside:

I used some of the negative areas of the die cut to brush ink through.  Then brushed some ink onto the inside, and stamped a portion of the music notes.  Added the HB verse.

So that's a wrap for today.  I hope you like my card, and I've inspired you to take out your dies and have a play!   You can find all of the Impression Obsession's dies HERE.
I am adding my card to these challenges today:
Addicted To Stamps - CAS card
Lil Red Wagon - I'd like to teach the world to sing (use music/songs to inspire you) I used Andy Williams' Pretty Butterfly
Simon Says Wednesday - Midsummer blues
AAA Cards- Along the edge/inspired by a song

I appreciate you visiting today, and I look forward to reading your comments.

Blessings,
