Old Is New At Impression Obsession - Slimline Watercolor Leaves

Slim Line Watercolor Leaves Card
With Caran D'Ache And Neocolor II

IO Stamps Links:

As you may know, I just love, love, love the Cover-A-Card stamps from Impression Obsession.  This Fancy Leaves stamp is one of the very first I purchased, soooo many years ago.  I use it for every season, and it has probably seen more ink than any of my other stamps!  I now have quite a collection of the CAC stamps.
For my card today, I used Caran D'Ache Neocolor II crayons. I placed my Fancy Leaves stamp onto my craft mat, rubber side up, and spritzed it lightly with water.  I then took some Caran D'Ache crayons in greens, blues, and purple, and rubbed them directly onto the stamp.  I colored the entire stamp, then misted it again when I was finished.
I placed a panel of natural card stock onto the stamp, and pressed evenly all over the back of it.  I had to repeat a portion of it, as the card stock panel is longer than the stamp, since I made a slimline card.  Most of the CAC stamps will cover an entire A2 size card in one go.
I love removing the stamp and seeing the results.  I misted my stamp pretty well, so it resulted in a watercolor look, which I was going for.  I added some spatters in the same colors, and brushed some of the color along the edges of the panel.

I layered the panel onto a 7 1/2 x 3 3/4 natural card, and added the verse panel.

Inside, I inked the stamp with distress inks in similar colors, and stamped off a couple of times, to create a background.  I added a natural panel over it, leaving a border.  The inks give a distinctively look than the Neocolor II's.

I hope you enjoy our Old Is New feature.  It's fun to share ideas with our older, well-loved stamps.

Thinking of You Card Featuring Lilacs With Real Brush Markers

Hello, and welcome to my blog.  I am stopping in to post a card that's on the Technique Junkies blog today.
I used Technique Junkies stamps:
Lilacs JT017
Difficult Time Set of 2  SDX156
With Sympathy Set of 5

I used Arteza Real Brush Markers  and a water brush to watercolor this lovely Lilacs image and the background.

I love these markers for their intensity and ease of use.  They blend effortlessly, and really hold their color well.

I white embossed the verse from the Difficult Time set and added it, then layered it all onto an A2 card.

I stamped the sympathy verse inside from the With Sympathy Set of 5, and bits of the lilac with distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure to check out the details of the Technique Junkies Summer 2020 Challenge at the TJ Facebook page HERE.  You have until tomorrow, June 29th, to enter for some fabulous prizes!

Die Cut Obsession At Impression Obsession - Life Is Sweet

It's that time again.  We are using our dies today at IO.  And since it is officially summer in the US, I made a card with my favorite summertime fruit, watermelon!

IO Die/Stamps:
Melon Slice DIE981-S
Life Is Sweet D12219
One In A Melon C12213 (inside)

I die cut the Melon Slice die from colored card stock scraps.  I added some color variance to the watermelon with a cotton ball with a touch of bleach.  I added spatters to the green.  I set this aside while I created the background.

I layered the black cs strip with the white embossed Life Is Sweet verse, along with some black and white striped pp onto a white A2 card front.  I used my  iBrush ink applicator daubers to add some green distress ink.  I added the watermelon slices and seeds to finish the front.

Inside:  I created a green area with my iBrush applicators, then stamped the One In A Melon verse, and added some pp with a couple of watermelon slices.

That's all there was to it.  Easy, and so fun!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Dots And/Or Stripes

Hello, happy Saturday!  Today's card is for the midway inspiration post for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme this month, as always, is Anything Goes.  This month's option is stripes and/or dots.  How fun!  So, here's my card....
PB Stamps:
All My Love
Special Thoughts

So, how adorable is this little bear?!!  I can think of so many occasions to use this stamp.  And so many different ways and mediums for coloring it.

For my card, I stamped the All My Love bear image into watercolor paper, and used Arteza Real Brush Markers and a water brush to paint the image.  I die cut the image, and added it to a die-cut card with foam tape.

I added a die cut frame border, and a strip of striped pp along the left edge.

Inside, I stamped the hugs and kisses verse from the Special Thoughts set, added another die cut frame and pp.

That's it.  Quick and easy, and oh, so fun!

Hope you'll join us at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge!  Who knows, you just may win a prize!

Impression Obsession Birthday Wishes Challenge

Hello, and welcome to IO's Birthday Wishes Challenge.  Time to pull out your birthday stamps and play along.  You just might win a $25 gift certificate to the IO store!

Today I decided to use my favorite color combo on my card, greens and purples.
Stamps:
Ginko Spray G13875
Happy Birthday 1  C14778

I taped off a border on recycled Bristol  and stamped the Ginko Spray onto it with distress ink.  I used a water brush with distress inks to watercolor the ginkgo images

When that was dry, I distressed the edges with peeled paint distress ink and my
I-brush ink applicators.  I love these little dauber brushes for perfect blending and color application.  They are like the foam finger daubers, only with really soft, dense brush tips!

I added some spatters, and a the Happy Birthday 1 verse, and peeled off the tape to finish my card.

Check out the other designer's inspiration cards on the IO blog post HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting today.

Impression Obsession Old Is New

Welcome to IO's Old Is New day.  Today we are featuring some of our older stamp images on our blogs.  Some of my favorite Impression Obsession stamps are the Cover-A-Card line of images.  This is one of my faves...

IO stamps:
CC382 Sketched Birds
CL492Warm Fuzzies Sentiments

I stamped the Sketched Birds onto Bristol card stock, and colored them with Arteza Everblend alcohol markers.  I used circle dies to die cut the images, and the black border circles for each image.

I adhered the pieces to a white A2 card, with a black layered panel and an aqua layered panel.  I used foam tape to give the card added dimension.

I enjoy challenging myself to find new ways to use my stamps, and thought this was a fun way to use this full-card image stamp.  One of the reasons I love this Cover-A-Card line of IO's stamps!  So many ways to use them!

I stamped the 'I'm so glad there is you' verse from the Warm Fuzzies Sentiments clear set onto a white scrap, and added it to the front.

Inside:  I cut these birds with a larger circle die.

And that's it.  An easy, fun card.

I just want to share that my hubby and I got to spend the day with our 'kids' and granddaughters at their home in Buffalo today.  It was a glorious day, made better by the fact that, for the first time in over THREE MONTHS, I got to be with them for more than a quick chat across from each other in our cars half way between our cities!  We got to hug and squeeze them, and play games, and laugh.  We were very careful to not be in each other's faces, and when we hugged, we turned our faces outward.  But it felt sooooo good to hold them!!  It was hard to leave, and a few tears were shed, but we're back home now, and I miss them already!

I just had to share that.  I know we are all missing our loved ones.

Be sure to stop by the IO blog and check out the inspiration from the other designers for our Old Is New feature today.  You can find their blog links HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.  I appreciate your comments.

The Voice Of The Sea Card With Distress Inks

Today I have a card for the Technique Junkies Summer Artwork Challenge.  It's all about water - the sea, beach, ocean and lakes - this week through June 16th. All of the items in the Summer/and Beach categories are 20% off through June 30th.  Just use the code Summer2020 at checkout.

I chose this beach scene for my card...
Stamps:
Beach Girl
Seahorse Set of 4
Zen Shells

I stamped the Zen Shells lightly on the A2 Kraft card front, and distressed the edges with distress ink, and added a distressed blue panel.

I stamped the Beach Girl image, and used brush daubers to add distress ink color to the image area, and cut it with a die from my stash, then distressed the edges.
I added this panel to the card front.

I stamped the verse onto pp, then cut it with a circle die, and distressed the edges, adding it to the card.

Finally, I stamped the sea shell from the Seahorse Set of 4  set, and used brush daubers to add distress ink to 'color' the shell.  I fussy-cut the shell, and added it with foam tape for more dimension.

Inside:
I stamped the shell from the Seahorse Set of 4 on the inside a few times, and added a strip of the pp.

That's it!  For more information on the challenge, see Pat's post on the TJ Facebook page HERE.  Join us for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate to the TJ store, or one of each of the June release stamps - that's a $120 value!

Die Cut Obsession at Impression Obsession - This Is The Day

Today we are featuring dies at Impression Obsession, for our Die Cut Obsession feature.  My card features one of the new summer dies, cut from foil card stock.
DIE998 Banana Leaves
SS-770-G  This Is The Day

I used foil card stock in blue and green to cut these Banana Leaves dies, and attached them to a blue A2 card front.

I added the This Is The Day verse with VersaFine nocturne ink.  Some sequins in blue and green finish off this quick and easy card.

Inside:
Short post today.  I've been busy creating a couple of fairy gardens for my back yard garden.  These are my first, and I also made a gnome/frog one!

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your visits and comments.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Card - A Sweet Friendship

It's the first Saturday of the month, and time for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The optional theme this month is dots and/or stripes.

My card features both stripes and dots today.

Penny Black stamps/stencil/die
Faith clear set 30-409
Bashful Die 51-008
Dotlets stencil 25-007
iBrush Ink Applicators (brush tipped daubers)

I started with a white panel, and inked some distress ink in lime green lightly on the background.  I also added some white ones, using white pigment ink.

I used my ibrush Ink Applicators to add green distress inks through the dotless stencil.  I also added some white ones, using white pigment ink.
I love these brush applicators.  They are daubers, much like the sponge daubers, that fit on your finger, but they are not foam tips, they are BRUSHES!  They are so easy to use to create smooth effects without harsh lines like we sometimes get with the foam applicators.

I die cut the Bashful daisy die from this panel, then die cut another white daisy, colored it with my ibrush Ink Applicators, and inserted it in the negative area of the die cut in the panel.

I layered all onto a lime green card base, added some striped pp (it was black and white, and I brushed green onto it), and a black cs strip.

Inside, I used the stencil, and the negative part of the daisy die to add color.

And that, my friends, is that.  I love lime and black together, with touches of white.  It's so refreshing and light, especially great for summer cards.

I hope you will join us at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  Who knows, you just might with a prize!

Blessings,
