Beary Merry
I know, I know....it's 92 degrees here today, and I'm posting a Christmas card! But, in my defense, I needed a baby card for my Penny Black Saturday Challenge design team post, and already made one with the only other PB baby stamp I have. Sooooo....don't shoot the messenger.......
I used Penny Black stamp Berry Merry for the image, and for the background I painted the floor, and stamped the background behind the girl and bear with Penny Black's Antique Pattern 1953H.
I watercolored the image with Daniel Smith watercolors. I used distress inks around the image, and mounted the panel to a red A2 card.
I am adding my card to these other challenges:
Modsquad Challenge - Christmas in July
Craft Stamper Make-It Take-It Challenge - Anything goes
Addicted To Stamps - Anything goes
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Take a minute to stop in at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge for the other design team members' inspiration. While you're there, you might want to play along. You never know, you just might win a prize!

Coneflowers Watercolor In My Art Journal
Hello lovely peeps! We've been out of town for a few days, and it's good to be back home. I always miss my art when I am away. Today was an exquisite day weather wise, so I grabbed my supplies and headed outdoors to my backyard retreat in my garden to draw and paint. My friend came over, and we had a lovely time creating together.
I worked with my watercolors in my art journal today, and created this for the World Watercolor Month FB page challenge....
The prompt is 'beautiful blooms,' so I drew some cone flowers to paint. I love cone flowers. They remind me of little ballerinas with their flowing skirts.
It was a perfectly lovely day. I got to practice my watercolor, spend time in the garden, and enjoy the company of my best friend. I feel very blessed.
Thanks so much for visiting. I love to read your comments, if you're so inclined.

An Angel Among Us
When I was a child, we used to pick little yellow flowers that we called buttercups. We would smell them and make a wish. If you got yellow on your nose, your wish would come true. So, when I saw this precious little darling smelling a 'buttercup,' I had to make a card with her!
Stamps: Penny Black - An Angel Among Us, and critter party (make a wish). The swirl along the left edge is from PB's scrolls die set.
I hadn't used my Tombow markers in a while, so I brought them out to play to color her. For the background, I used them as watercolor. In real life, the wings and the ruffle of her dress, and the scroll die are shimmering with Spectrum Noir clear sparkle.
I hope you will join us at Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The theme is always 'Anything Goes.' This month's optional prompt is 'Baby.' So, when you make your baby or any other Penny Black card, enter it. You just may win a $20 gift certificate from our sponsor,
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I appreciate you spending time here, and leaving your wonderful comments.
Challenges:
The Paper Players - Celebration!
Penny Black At Allsorts - Things with wings
Seize The Birthday - Sequins
Enjoy your weekend!

Totally Flexible
Some stamps just make me smile....
This is a card from my Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen design team for January. Six months is up, so I can post it on my blog now.
The bird is Tim Holtz...one of the crazy birds in the set. I added eyelids, eyelashes, and an iris. I colored the bird with soft pastels and added white spots with a gel pen, then fussy-cut her and raised her up on the background with foam tape.
The background was painted with distress inks and the smoosh technique. The verse is from a Diane Ravely set. I stamped it at a friend's house when I was there, so I don't know the name of the set.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Joy Of The Lord
Day four of World Watercolor Month. Today I created in my watercolor art journal. I used my Daniel Smith watercolors, keeping myself to just the basic set of six. I love mixing colors to get different ranges and temperatures of color. A little hand lettering for my verse finish my composition.
And, here is a close-up....
Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoyed your day, and made time for yourself, to do something you enjoy.

Comfort Zone
Today is day three of World Watercolor Month. I played in my journal today. The prompt on the World Watercolor Facebook Group for today is 'Primary Colors.' Red, yellow, blue - but I needed to add a bit of green for my leaves, which is, technically, a secondary color.
I had fun with this. I'm definitely outside my comfort zone on this. I use watercolor a lot on stamped images for cards. I had dabbled a teensy bit a few years ago with watercolor painting. Now, I have a desire to get into it on a deeper level. But I am a control freak, so watercolor is a challenge for me. It has it's own mind, so I'm learning it's ways. I decided I would combine watercolor with something I AM comfortable with...doodling!
Thanks for visiting today. If you have a chance, do hop on over to the World Watercolor Facebook Group and check out the amazing talent there. I'm definitely out of my league. But, then, that's the challenge, and that's the fun. And I can only grow from it!

Card 1....
Stamps:
Seashell Borders set of 2 -
Old Pier (non-release)
Wonderful World (non-release)
I created the background by sponging Tim Holtz distress inks, then stamped the Wonderful World verse on it, and the birds from the Old Pier stamp. I layered it using stitched rectangles dies from my stash. I stamped and cut the Seashell Borders with a circle stitched die, and added it with foam tape for dimension. Some Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen adds shimmer and a bit of sparkle to the card.
Challenges: AAA - Use a frame; Cards In Envy - Blue and distressed; Little Red Wagon - Summer fun days; Time Out Challenges - Warm
Card 2....
Stamps:
Seashells Set of 5 - NEW
In My Prayers - (non-release)
I used Ranger Archival Inks for my stamping. I used distress ink for the spattering on the main card for a textured background. A blue strip with some maruyama from my stash adds a backdrop and some color and additional texture.
I fussy-cut the shells and added them, using foam tape on some. The verse is added with three layers of Ranger Archival ink.
Challenges: Simply Less Is More - From your 'bits' box
Card 3.....
STAMPS:
Swirly Waves - NEW
Seashells Set of 5 - NEW
Delight - Non-release
I embossed the Swirly Waves with Ranger Embossing Antiquities in Verdigris. I love the way this embossing powder has the green with gold flecks in it.
I embossed the conch seashell from the set with gold embossing powder and fussy-cut it. I added it to the banner I created with the Delight verse also embossed in gold.
Challenges: Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - anything goes
Card 4.....
STAMPS:
Princess Mermaid - NEW (Rita Barakat)
Seagrass - NEW (Rita Barakat
Mermaid Kisses Set of 5 - Non-release
I inked the Seagrass with my Arteza real brush markers, and created the background using my Misti, so that I could color small sections at a time and add depth. I stamped the verse with the Mermaid Kisses set and layered the background into the rectangle die on green card.
I colored the Princess Mermaid with Arteza real brush markers, and fussy-cut her and added her with foam tape. A little gold gel pen for her crown.
Challenges: The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge
Cards 5 & 6 Stam
Stamp for both cards: Sailing Ship Collage - New
I wish you could see this card in real life. I embossed the ship with JudiKins Black Opal embossing powder, which is sparkly and has fiery red and multi-color sparkles mixed in with the black...striking.
I layered the embossed image onto some gold glitter card stock, then onto a white A2 card.
This one I stamped onto kraft card stock with Ranger Archival sepia ink. I sponged faded jeans distress ink around the outside, died some twine and added a charm.
From here, hop on over to Pat Huntoon's blog for more inspiring ideas with her release projects.
And remember, to get 10% off non-release stamps to use with the new release stamps, which are 15% off until July 8th, Just use my code TJ10Lynda.
