Wintery Christmas Card

Dreaming of a white, or pink, Christmas!

Hi.  Just a quick post today with a link to my post on the Technique Junkies blog.  I have this card posted there today.  You can find it on the TJ blog HERE, with full directions, stamps, and inside of card.

I hope you are enjoying your holiday preparations.   Thanksgiving here was quiet, just hubby and myself, with our furry loveball, Bella.  Fingers are crossed that we can be with the kids for Christmas, but, we are prepared for the possibility of that not being possible, due to restrictions and safety concerns.  We would rather miss one holiday season together to be able to be together for the rest of our live's worth.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope you will check out my post on the Technique Junkies blog HERE.  Details and my discount code are in the post.

Wishing you happy, healthy, and safe holiday traditions.

Blessings,

Impression Obsession Old Is New Day - Eucalyptus Branch Hugs

Hello friends.  It's time for another Old Is New day at Impression Obsession, a day to use some of the older stamps in the line.

I am featuring a CAS card today.  This is out of my comfort zone, as I love embellishing and layering, and lots of texture.  But, every once in a while I stretch myself with a CAS challenge.

IO Stamps/Dies Links:

On watercolor paper, in my Misti, I stamped the Eucalyptus Branch with antique linen distress ink.  I used Kuretake Gansai watercolor paints to paint the image.  I painted in layers, building up color as I went from leaf to leaf.  When it was dry, I added some spatters.

I stamped the Sending Hugs verse onto a tag I had cut from the Small Tags die, and added it with some twine around the card.  I attached this panel to a soft heather panel, then onto an ivory A2 card front.

Inside, I stamped the Eucalyptus Branch 1 with weathered wood distress ink.

That's it.  Clean and simple.  Easy-peasy.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I appreciate your comments.

I am adding my card to these challenges:
Time Out Challenge - Quick (easy, quick to make)

Penny Black Christmas Poinsettia Card

Greetings, and happy Saturday.  Today is the midway point of the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme this month is Anything Goes, with optional Bingo.

For my card today, I chose a couple of much older Penny Black stamps from my stash.

With the holly swirl stamp, I colored the stamp with distress inks, and stamped it onto a cream card stock panel.  I repeated this inking and stamping all the way around the cardstock, creating a holly border

For the main image, I inked the poinsettia stamp, and stamped it onto a piece of vellum.  I added some spatters of distress ink, and the verse.

I attached the vellum to the holly panel with brads, and outlined the holly panel with my gold leafing pen.

I attached the panel to a red card front.

That's it.  I just love the Penny Black brush stamps.  They make it easy to create pretty cards that look watercolored.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you will join us at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  We would love to see what you create!

Blessings,

Watercolor With Leaf Cluster

It's a very windy Sunday morning here in upstate New York.  We are preparing for a wind storm later today.  Good day to be indoors with my creative supplies.

I am popping in with a card that I have on the Technique Junkies blog today.  I used a real leaf cluster that I had found on my walk earlier.  Full directions and my techniques are on the TJ blog post HERE.

I hope you have a creative day.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Penny Black Fall Card

Hello, and welcome to my blog post today.
It's the first Saturday of the month, and that
means it's time for the
The theme this month is Bingo.  See this post for
details and to enter your card.

How I made my card:
  • I used my Misti to stamp the PB Allegro image onto bristol card stock.  I used fall colors of distress inks, adding the colors with mini ink pads to different areas of the image until it looked the way I wanted.

  • I used some PB older stamps to add interest to the background.
  • For the background color, I applied Faber Castell soft pastels with a cotton ball.
  • I cut with a stitched die cut, and layered it onto an A2 card front.
These PB stamps are all older ones from my stash.  I love the brush stamps, and have several of the oldies.

I hope you will join us for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  You never know, you just may win a prize!

Thanks for stopping in today.

Watercolor Holly Card - Impression Obsession Old Is New Day

a day for us to use our older stamps and show them some inky love.
This Watercolor Holly just fit my mood today.
I wanted to play with inks and water, and there it was!

IO Stamps Links:

And here's how I made my card:
  • On recycled bristol card stock, I used my Misti to stamp the

Watercolor Holly image.  I used light green for the first stamping.
  • I added various colors of distress ink, using the minis for this, spritzing lightly with water between stampings.  I repeated several times, until I had the look I was going for.
  • With a wet paintbrush, I added some of the same colors around the background.
  • When it was bone dry, I used a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen to outline some of the areas on the image.  I did this one section at a time, so it wouldn't dry, then added gold embossing powder and heated to add the gold highlights.
  • I made some dots with the pen, and embossed them.
  • I gold embossed the Simple Joys verse.
  • INSIDE:  I lightly stamped portions of the Celebrate His Love image, then stamped the  verse with gold pigment ink.

I have this card posted on the Technique Junkies blog today.  I have added the details for how I created it here on my blog:
  • On natural card stock, I stamped the Woodland Wonders  image with Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  I trimmed the panel up to the image borders, and used Polychromos colored pencils to color the images within.
  • On a scrap piece of card stock, I created a tag die cut, using a die from this Small Tags DIE set.  I distressed the tag with green and brown distress inks.
  • I stamped the verse from the Proverbs set with the same brown ink, and attached the tag to twine, which I wrapped around the panel and secured with a button tied with a bow.
  • I attached the panel to a brown A2 card front.

I hope you like my card, and are inspired by this release.

I have two very different cards to share with you today.  Card 1:

TJ Stamps Links:

How I made my card:
  • On a white card stock panel, I used distress inks and brush applicators to add ink for the sky, along with paper I had cut into hill shapes for masks to create the snow banks with the same applicators and ink.
  • I stamped the Birch Tree Border, colored the trees with Polychromos colored pencils, and fussy-cut them.  I adhered them to the panel.
  • I stamped and colored the deer and bunny from the Woodland Wonders background stamp, colored them, fussy cut them, and added them to the panel.
  • I cut the Peace die from card stock that I had blended with the same colors as the sky, and added it.
  • I added the panel to a white A2 card front to finish.

Card 2:
IO Stamps Links:

How I made my card:
  • On a pale pink A2 card front, I stamped the Coffee Stains image with coffee Ranger Archival ink.
  • I stamped part of the Love, Laughter and Coffee verse on pink card stock, and the other on another piece, using the coffee archival ink.  I did this in my Misti to get a darker color by stamping it three times each.
  • I used heart dies from my stash to cut the verses into heart shapes, and added them to the card with foam tape to give added dimension.
  • I added some Nuvo Rosewater Jewel Drops for added texture and embellishment.

And that, my friends, is that.
