STAMP:  Make The Most

I cut the dies from different colored card stocks for the cart, grass, and umbrella.  I cut some woodgrain patterned paper for the body of the cart.  
For the flowers, I cut the dies from water color paper.  I used Arteza real brush markers to color the flowers.  The rest was just deciding where I wanted everything, and attaching the pieces.  I added the verse, and that was that. Easy-peasy, and oh-so-fun!

I cut the tag and umbrella dies from some shimmery white card stock, and added some worn lipstick distress ink to a card from the same stock.  I added the tag die cut to the card, then added the umbrella from the Flower Cart set.  I attached some pearled lace to the umbrella.  
I cut the flowers from four different shades of pink card stock, then pressed the centers of each flower with an embossing stylus on some soft foam.  This curls the flowers up, adding dimension.  
I filled the umbrella with the flowers, added a ribbon bow, and the Best Wishes tag.  The little banner tag is from the Tag With Tags die set.

I cut the die from some paper I had in my stash.  A few years ago, I made a bunch of background sheets from paper grocery bags and acrylic paint.  The technique involved distressing the bag by wadding up the bag, then opening it and simply just painting strokes of coordinating acrylic paints onto the bag and spritzing with water, then wadding it again.  Then opening it out and drying it.
For this piece, I used greens and browns, with some areas of gold acrylic paint, as well.  I'm on a mission to use some of the amazing papers I had created and have been 'hoarding,' and I thought it be the perfect piece to cut the Sea Turtles die from.
I added it to a blue pp panel, then stamped the verse and added some clear drop accents.

Make A Wish

Hello...and welcome.  I'm stopping in with a quick post for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog.  The theme is 'anything goes' with optional 'Food and/or Drink.'  

I used Penny Black stamps from the Critter Party 30-013 clear stamp set.  I watercolored the images with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils.  

I fussy-cut the balloon and added it, drawing a string to the little mouse's hand.

A little layering and a ribbon finish it off.

Girls Just Wanna Have SUN

It's Friday here, with a gorgeous weekend in the forecast!  TGIF!  I'm kicking off the weekend with a fun summer sunshine card.

I used Technique Junkies' Wanna Have Sun stamp for my card today.  It's one of the new stamps from the Impression-Obsession July Stamp Release.   I stamped it with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, and colored her with colored pencils.  This was such a fun card to color, and really made me smile the whole time!

For the sunburst effect, I sponged some yellow distress ink through a stencil from my stash.  You can't tell from the photo, but there are is a faint sunburst on the green border, which I created with another sunburst stencil that was larger.

Love Poinsettia Swag

I stamped the image onto mixed media paper, and colored it with colored pencils.  I layered it onto a lavendar card with a white panel.  I used the Pine die-cuts under the image panel.  I added the 'love' die accent with foam tape for dimension.  It does not show well in the photo, but the pines and the love word are cut from white glitter card stock.

I created the background onto blue card stock, which I had distressed.  I then ran it through a snowflake embossing plate, and added some die-cut snowflakes.  I wrapped some ribbon around the panel, and attached it to an A2 card front.  

I stamped the bear, and water colored him, then mounted him to circle dies, then onto the card, and added a bow.  Finally, I added the verse.

The pitcher is actually a Christmas stamp, but I thought it could also be used year-round, with the right colors.  I chose fall colors, and used colored pencils.  I added some leaf dies to a card front

I have three cards to share with you today.

Peace Poinsettia

I stamped the poinsettia onto bristol smooth paper, and used colored pencils to color the petals.  I embossed the Peace word onto burgundy card stock, and fussy-cut it, then added it to the panel.   I dyed white seam binding with distress inks and water to match the card, then wrapped it and added a bow.

I loved creating this card!  Playing with inks is what I enjoy most.  I brushed some distress ink colors onto watercolor paper, then stamped the three leaves randomly over it.  I stamped the French Text background over that, then mounted it onto some layers and a card.

For the image panel, I stamped Leaf 1 with distress ink, added some of the French Text, and some distressing along the edges.  Layered onto a rust colored panel, torn, and foam taped to the card.  The verse is stamped, and cut into a banner, and some dyed string give it the finishing touches.

Giving Thanks For You

I think my favorite set in this release is this Pretty Pitcher set.  It has 15 branches of different leaves, along with the pitcher and 7 other elements.  Soooo many possibilities with this one set!   

I stamped several of the leaf branches along the left and top of a panel of bristol card stock.  I sponged distress inks in shades of yellows to distress.  I added the verse stamped panel, some buttons and a twine wrap-around with bow.
Finally, I flicked some spatters onto the panel, then layered it onto an A2 card front.

I have three cards today...

Card 1

Stamps:  Summer Bouquet
              Get Well Soon

I colored the Summer Bouquet with Polychromos colored pencils, then fussy cut it.  I used an embossing plate from my stash, and ran some textured card stock through for the raised stripe background, then added a border die. 
I added the flower image with foam tape, then the Get Well Soon verse strip.

Card 2

Stamps:  Pelican
              Things I Want To Do set (verse)

I used Tombow markers to 'ink' the Pelican image, and stamped it onto watercolor paper.  I painted with distress inks, then added details with Polychromos.  
I added the Cherish verse from the Things I Want To Do set.


And Card 3

Stamps:  Sailing Panel
              Smooth Sailing
              Ropes

I stamped the Sailing Panel onto natural card stock, and colored with Polychromos colored pencils.  I stamped the Smooth Sailing verse and layered it onto the card.  I thought it needed a little something, so I added a couple of the ropes from the Ropes set.  
I had stamped them with distress ink and watercolored, then fussy-cut them and added them around the verse panel.

It is an exquisite summer day here in upstate New York, and I'm out on my backyard garden deck, blogging about fall and winter cards!  Although it was difficult to think about those seasons and create cards around them while the temps hover into the 80's, it helps me appreciate the beauty and gifts of each season nature gives us here.

I have three cards to share with you today....

Glad For October

I used distress inks to create a highlight spot for the wreath.  I stamped the Leaf Circle several times, rotating it for each stamping.  The verse and pumpkins from the Pumpkin Kisses set accent the wreath.

I used colored pencils on the pumpkin, and brushed distress ink around it for highlight area.  To create the suggestion of leaves off into the background, I used the same distress ink to brush some color through the negative area of the Bird Branch die, using it as a stencil.  It's subtle, but it gives the illusion of depth.

All Hearts Come Home For Christmas

               Hill Landscape Layers DIE343-T

I colored all the images with colored pencils.  I created the background by brushing some distress ink through the negative part of the Fir Trees die.  I added the die cut Fir Trees and Hill Landscape Layers, then fussy-cut the Kringle and Nordic Town images and added them.
