I had so much fun creating this card today. I used my favorite colors, and my favorite technique. And I even had a cup of my favorite Starbucks coffee while I was working on it. I was definitely in my happy place.
I used Stampendous stamps - Cling Sketchy Blooms, and Sending Cheerful Thoughts. The die is Spellbinders.
I started by embossing the Sketchy Blooms in white onto watercolor paper, then watercolored them using Tim Holtz distress inks as paint. When dry, I fussy-cut them out.
I embossed the verse onto the watercolor paper, and cut it out. I layered my A6 white card with an orchid panel to fit, then adhered a watercolor panel slightly smaller, leaving a border. I added my flower pieces, die cut circle, and verse, using tape and foam tape for dimension and interest. (I sponged some wilted violet ink lightly onto the verse before attaching it to help it stand out a little more).
To bring in a little more gold, I added a strip of the same paper as I used for the circle to the left side. A spattering of gems by The Paper Studio finish it off.
I am adding my card to these challenges:
