A quick post tonight with a card I made for a couple of challenges this week.
I didn't have any butterflies for the Cas-ual Fridays challenge, so I improvised by getting creative with the flowers in their Truth Is clear set. I think they kind of look like stylized butterflies. I know, it's a stretch. The verse is also from this same set.
I used the flower tops as butterflies by inking only the top of the smaller flower by masking off the rest of the flower with Post-It notes, then stamping onto my card. Then I used the same flower right next to it, mirroring it so that it looked somewhat like a stylized butterfly. I drew in the body and head with my micron pen.
I used Tim Holtz distress inks with a Dove blender to color the 'butterflies,' and to stencil the stripes, using a stencil from my stash. I added some spatters of ink, and used my clear Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to add some sparkle to the butterflies and stripes.
My card today is for the following challenges:
Cas-ual Fridays - Tic Tac Toe (butterflies, 1 layer, stripes)
Calling All Sistahs - Color challenge
Thanks for visiting.
Blessings,
lynda
