Lustrous!

My card today is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  I used a Penny Black stamp called Lustrous!  And I chose my favorite color combination.  The verse is also from PB, from the 'gratitude' clear set.  And the stencil is PB's 'leaf frolic.'  One of my favorites!
It's a great day for stamping here.  We are at the beginning of a winter storm.  By the end of tomorrow, we should have anywhere from 18 to 20 inches of the white stuff!  So, I'm comfy in my studio, playing with my art 'stuff.'

I stamped a panel of white Strathmore bristol card stock in my Misti with the Lustrous stamp.  I used distress mini ink cubes to water color the image.  I stamped it several times, each time adding different shades of a color to it, and using my paint brush with a little water to move the ink.  When I had achieved the look I wanted, I removed the panel from the Misti.

I used my Polychromos colored pencils to add details to the petals and leaves.
When the flower was finished, I brushed shabby shutters distress ink around it, fading it out as it went across the card.  I created the leaf background with the leaf frolic stencil, using the shabby shutters distress ink with my makeup brush to apply the color lightly.

I stamped the verse with Ranger archival ink in leaf green.  I used my Misti so I could stamp it a couple of times to achieve the depth of color I wanted.  I added some sequins, and attached the panel to an A2 card front.

I am adding my card to these challenges:
AAA Cards Challenge - Pastel colors
Addicted To Stamps - Clean and simple
Crafty Creations - Anything goes
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Clean and simple
The Paper Funday Challenge - Anything goes

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you are finding time to create, or to do whatever brings you joy.

Blessings,

  12. Wow! I've just tried working with this stamp today to no avail so I searched the net for cards make with it and I must say, no one did a more outstanding job than you did! You managed to preserve all the detail! I could not see the detail on the buds and finally gave up. When I came across this my jaw hit the floor. Fabulous shading and coloring on this and how I'd have loved to watch you do it!
