For my card today, I used the fabulous Sketched Pear stamp and stitched tag die.

Dies: Hugs DIE516-A
I decided to make a collage-style card today. On a white A2 card front (and inside left side), I stamped the
Vegetable Medley image. This is one of our Cover-A-Card stamps, so it was easy to cover the entire background with just one stamping..nothing to line up, etc.
I tore some green textured card stock, and added it, curling some of the edges to give it a distressed look.
On a die-cut Stitched Tag, I stamped the French Text CAC faintly, leaving the center blank for the pear. I stamped the Sketched Pear with antique linen distress ink. I colored the pear with my Polychromos colored pencils.
This took quite a while, as I am recovering from a broken wrist, and had to color with a brace on my hand, making it a bit tricky. I took lots of rest breaks, so as not to stress the wrist too much.

I believe that we can learn something from our trials and setbacks. Since I couldn't put much pressure on the pencil, I learned to take my time and layer the pencil colors ever so gradually, building them up and blending them out using a very light touch. The Polychromos layer nicely, and will take a lot of layers without a waxy build-up that I have found with other pencils. I will use this light layering technique lesson in my future coloring projects.
To finish the front, I added the tag to the card with foam tape. I then added the Hugs die, which I had layered three times for dimension, with a green layer offset to help it stand out. I added a curlique paper clip with ribbon and twine for details and texture.
Inside: I faintly stamped the French Text , added a piece of torn card stock that I had used on the front, and a pear from the Vegetable Medley background, which I had stamped onto a light green card stock scrap.
I hope you are inspired by my card today. There are so many lovely new stamps in this release. You can check them out HERE.
