Hollyhocks Hugs - Die Cut Obsession

Time for another Impression-Obsession Die Cut Obsession post.   I have a card to share with you today.  You can find the other's designer's projects HERE.

For my card, I used Impression-Obsession stamps and dies:
Hollyhocks DIE169-R
Hugs DIE516-A
All-In-One Frames Rectangles 2 - DIE291WW (inside)
Boho Star H23028 stamp
French Script H9396 stamp

I started by creating a background on white card stock, brushing on green distress ink, then stamping the Boho Star and French Script intermittently on it.  I die-cut the hollyhocks from this panel, then cut it with an oval die. I added some blue distress ink along the edges.  I layered this oval with the die openings onto another oval which was covered with double sided tape.  So now the back was on the finished piece, and the openings of the hollyhocks were sticky from the tape.

I then die-cut the Hollyhocks again, only from white bristol card stock, and painted them with Caran D'Ache Neocolor II watercolor crayons.  When dry, I inlaid these colored flowers into the openings on the finished panel with the openings.  I added more touches of color as needed to the flowers after they were placed on the panel.

I die-cut the Hugs die three times with white, and one time with some card stock that I had created with my neocolor II crayons, placing that one on top.  I added the stacked 'hugs' to the finished panel.  I added the completed oval to a blue A2 card front, then added some shimmer and sparkle with my Spectrum Noir clear shimmer pen.  A silk ribbon bow finish off the front.

Inside:

I just used the negative part of the leftover white die cut piece, and used it as a stencil with some distress ink brushed on.

For the frame, I used IO's die
All-In-One Frames Rectangles 2 - DIE291WW

I used this hollyhocks die in a previous post HERE, using entirely different colors and techniques.  Click this LINK to check it out.  I used distress oxides on that one, and did not inlay it.

I hope you are enjoying this new feature from Impression-Obsession, and getting inspired to use those dies you have on your cards.
