I have three cards for your inspiration today:

CARD 1:  Hello Hydrangeas
Stamps:
Hydrangeas JT016
In Full Bloom Sentiments Set of 6  SS105

How I made it:

On bristol card stock, I stamped the Hydrangeas image with Nocturne VersaFine Clair ink, then I layered Polychromos colored pencil coloring on it.  I added the panel to an eggplant panel, then onto a textured green panel, then onto a cream card front.

I added a 'hello' die, which I had cut from purple mirror card stock from my stash.

Inside:  I colored and fussy-cut a portion of the Hydrangeas  stamp, and added it to the bottom.  I stamped the garden verse from the In Full Bloom Sentiments set.

CARD 2:  Coral Saltwater Heals
STAMPS:
Underwater Borders SS107
Saltwater Heals SD953
Whitecaps S832

How I made it:

On light blue card stock, I stamped one of the borders from the Underwater Borders set with VersaFine Claire Nocturne ink, then colored it with Polychromos colored pencils.

I inked the Whitecaps image with distress salty ocean ink, then stamped it off onto scrap paper, then onto the panel with the border image, masking out the image before stamping it.

I added colored pencil 'sand' around the coral border image for the ocean bottom.  Then I distressed the edge with Vintage Photo distress ink, and added the panel to a light blue card front.

I stamped the Saltwater Heals verse onto a blue card stock scrap, distressed it with the same distress ink, and foam mounted it to the card front for added dimension.

INSIDE:  I stamped a portion of another of the borders from the Underwater Borders set, colored and fussy-cut it, and added it to the inside.  I left the sentiment area blank for a personal note.

CARD 3:  Fishing Day
STAMPS:
Born To Fish SS108
Saltwater Heals SD953

How I made it:

On bristol card stock, I created a background using various shades of distress inks and ink applicators.  I layered these colors gradually, trying to create a sunset scene.

When it was dry, I stamped the Born To Fish image over the background.  I used my Misti tool so that I could repeat the stamping if needed.  I used VersaFine Clair nocturne ink, which stamps beautifully with one coat.  I did stamp a couple of times, just for safe measure.  I let that dry, then touched up the background stamping with a few more swipes of the distress inks.

I stamped the verse from the same Born To Fish set to finish off the front.

INSIDE:  I stamped a portion of the Born To Fish set in the bottom left corner, and the Saltwater Heals verse.  I lightly brushed some of the same colors of distress inks over the images inside.

I hope you are inspired by my cards today.

  9. Lynda, was a little confused since your card you posted on Watercooler Wednesday Challenges was of the hydrangeas (which is gorgeous), but your blog notes the underwater card as the one you chose to our challenge. You might want to post the second card to the challenge to be eligible to be picked a winner (before 5pm MDT June 3rd). I was glad it was the underwater card you intended, since I fell in love at it at first sight! Your great coloring, masking, and choice of layout are fantastic! Love how you also decorated the inside of your card. Just a wonderful job all round!!! Thank you for sharing your creative talents with us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges this week!!! -Donna
