Magenta Stamps With Neocolor II Watercolor

I had to have a play with my Neocolor II watercolor crayons today.  I have had this Leaf Branch stamp from Magenta for quite a while, and am finally using it!  It just begged to be colored with my Neocolor II's.

Can I just say how much I love my Neocolor II crayons?!  They are so fun to work with, and the colors stay rich and true.  They lend themselves to so many techniques, since they blend beautifully and work with most other mediums.
Today I used them on my Leaf Branch stamp from Magenta. I created a light blue and green background with the Neocolor crayons by rubbing them onto a ceramic tile, then adding water and used them as I would any other watercolor paint.
When dry, I placed the panel into my Misti, with the stamp.  I misted the stamp lightly with water, then used various greens and blues in the Neocolor II crayons to color directly onto the stamp.  I then misted it, and stamped it onto the watercolor paper.

I used a water brush to watercolor the petals.  I very lightly painted in some leaf and branch shapes in the background, then used the leftover colors from the tile to spatter onto the panel.  I also added some black spatters.

Inside
I stamped the Magenta Create stamp with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, layered the panel onto black card stock, then onto a card front.
Inside, I stamped the image a couple of times, offset, with distress inks, stamping them off first on scrap paper to give a light image.  I hand drew a black border.
I am adding my card to day 3 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge.

I had so much fun painting this, and hope I've inspired you to get out your supplies and create something today.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  I appreciate your kind comments.

Blessings,
