Daisy Blessings Card

It was another glorious day here today.  The sun was shining, and it was warm, but just warm enough to be comfortable in long sleeves, no sweater.  I love fall days like this, when it smells like fall, sounds like fall, looks like fall, yet it is a wee bit warmer than the crisp fall days.  I love those, also, though.

So, my card today was inspired by the last three daisies in my garden, that just refuse to give up.  They are hanging in there, standing proud and tall, and giving their very last bit of life to add some cheer to my decaying garden.  I love daisies; they are my favorite flower.  They are cheerful, unpretentious, and always make me smile.  They look so pretty on a window sill in a little vase, and add so much life and cheer to a garden patch.  Their bloom is long, and they look like dancers when they sway in the wind.

I started with a Darice embossing folder - the one with the daisies, and put it through my Cuttlebug with white bristol paper in it.  I fussy-cut the daisies from the paper and set it aside.

For the background panel, I used a piece of bristol paper, and dragged fossilized amber, peeled paint, and broken china distress oxide inks from top to bottom of the paper.  I dried that with my heat tool, then dragged the same colors horizontally across the paper, and dried that.

I made a frame from amber card stock with an Our Daily Bread double stitched die, and attached the background piece to it, wrapped some yellow, blue and green string around it, then attached it to a white A2 card.

I used the distress inks as watercolor, and added color to the daisies with a paint brush, then attached it to the card with glue dots and foam tape.  The Blessings die is from Simon Says Stamp Christmas Blessings SSSD111380.  I cut it several times, sponged the oxided on the last die cut, and layered them, then attached it to the card.  I was going to add some sequins or clear crystals, but thought it had enough going on, so didn't.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Cas-ual Fridays Challenge Card

Waking up to snow this morning was NOT fun.  But the good news is that Monday is supposed to be in the mid 70's!!  My poor flowers and plants don't know what to do.  My tiger lilies are about three inches high, and daffodils are trying to grow, and now they are knee deep in snow!  I hope they survive.

Since spring keeps playing peek-a-boo with us, I decided to create some spring-y cards with my stamping supplies and colorful inks today.  This card is for the
Cas-ual Fridays challenge

I decided to make the background rainbow.  I used painter's tape to tape off the edges of watercolor paper, then brushed on Tim Holtz distress inks in rainbow colors with my Clarity brushes.  When I removed the tape, I had a luscious rainbow background.  I also taped the edge of the card, and used finger daubers to create the rainbow border around the edge.  I created the ribbon border with my black Micron 01 pen.  I attached the panel to a black A-2 top fold card.

I embossed the verse from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps Pretty Posies set onto a black scrap with white embossing, cut it out, and added it to the card front. I stamped flowers from the same Pretty Posies set onto watercolor paper, then fussy-cut them and added them to the card with different depth foam tapes.

Some tiny sequins finish off the card.

I am also adding my card to these challenges:

Simon Says Monday Challenge - Make a rainbow

Addicted to Stamps challenge - Anything goes

Time Out Challenges - Quote:  'When it rains look for rainbows, when its dark look for stars'

I will be back tomorrow with more cards.  Thank you for stopping in today.

Some Bunny Loves You Card

Just stopping in with a quick post tonight for the Art Impressions Challenge.
The theme of the challenge is Lots of Love.  I think this cute little bunny has lots of love to share.

I really love this Art Impressions stamp set, Easter Blessings clear set (4886K).  The images are just adorable!  And the stamp quality is superb.  These bunnies make me smile, they are fun to color, and so versatile.  Although it is called an Easter set, many of the images, like this bunny in his 'flower bed," can be used for card making for many occasions.
I stamped my image onto canvasette paper, and watercolored it with antique linen distress ink, and Tombow markers with a damp watercolor brush.  I wanted a no-line watercolor look.  I love the texture created by this paper.
I layered the panel onto a scrap piece of green card stock, with the pink frame from a Lawn Fawn die, and the background border die from Art Impressions.  The some bunny loves you verse is in the Easter Blessings set also.

I am also adding my card to these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Use your favorite tool (Cuttlebug)

Allsorts Challenge Blog - Hearts and/or flowers

I'm so glad you stopped by today.  Thank you.

Verve Stamps Love Challenge Card

As promised, I'm back today with another card I made from the free Verve Stamps digital sheet (see yesterday's previous post for details).....
This card uses the same stamps, but has an entirely different feel to it.  Of course, the color is different, and also the layout.  I started with a pink A2 card and some stamped images from the above mentioned digital sheet.  I added a little coloring and sponging with distress inks, some layering and dies, fussy cutting, and a few black gems, with a strip of deco paper for a side border.  Easy-Peasy and so fun.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Verve Diva Inspiration Challenge  - Use images from free digital sheet.

Little Red Wagon - Red and/or pink and black

I have had a busy stamping day today.  See you tomorrow with a card from one of my stamped pieces.  Thank you for visiting.

Blessings,
