It's official....I saw two flocks of geese leaving today. Fall is definitely on the horizon. And my fall stamps are making their way to my desk, waiting to be inked. I couldn't resist, so here is my first of the season.....
I do love the rich, jewel tones of autumn, especially in the leaves.
Stamps used: Impression-Obsession Fancy Leaves CC224 Cover A Card cling background leaf stamp. The verse is also Impression-Obsession. I do not know the name or number, as it is one of their older stamps, and I had detached it from the wood and neglected to write the info. Sorry.
Technique: I inked the leaf stamp with Tim Holtz distress oxide inks, then spritzed the stamp so that it was wet, but not extremely runny. I placed a piece of linen card stock onto the stamp, and held it there a few seconds before lifting it. I lifted it off, then spritzed the card with water to get the inks blurring a bit more. I dried the piece, then when it was dry, I very lightly rubbed a damp baby wipe over the surface. This brightened the color somewhat, and also spread some of it into the background, creating a creamy, soft background for the leaves.
I stamped the verse using my Misti, so that I could stamp it a few times to get it dark enough. I spritzed Tattered Angels pearl glimmer mist over the entire panel. In real life, this gave the piece a beautiful shimmery finish. Here is a close up, but still doesn't do it justice in the photo...
I adhered the panel to an A2 card base, added some spatters with a Krylon gold leafing pen, cut a thin strip for along the left edge (I ran the gold leafing pen along the strip before adhering, to carry over the gold from the spatters).
Challenges:
Impression-Obsession Challenge - Harvest hellos (fall or halloween)
Little Red Wagon Challenge - Distress it (I used distress inks)
Word Art Wednesday Challenge - Verse
The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge
I hope you are having a great week. Thanks so much for visiting.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge Card
The photo for the inspiration challenge this month at Altenew is lovely....
I love the colors, and the way Erum embossed and colored those flowers!
Here is my take on the challenge....
I created the background by rubbing Tim Holtz inks onto my craft mat, adding water, and dabbing the inks onto watercolor paper. I repeated this with a few different colors, and dried them in between layers. I added some gold from my Fine Tec gold palette of watercolor pigments. Here is a close up of the background. I tried to capture the way the gold pigments shimmer on the background, but it's difficult to capture with a photo.....
The flowers are from Altenew's Hibiscus Bouquet set. I embossed them in gold, and watercolored them with FinTec gold pigments. Then I fussy-cut them and added them to the die-cut oval panel from the background I had created. I mounted this onto the wood panel (Altenew) stamped background. The Love die is by Spellbinders.
I added this card to the Altenew Inspiration Challenge.
Thank you for stopping in.

You Are Totally Fabulous Card
Today's card is another for the Ellen Hutson The Classroom Pin Sights Challenge
Here is the inspiration picture for this challenge:

Here is the inspiration picture for this challenge:
I used stamps from Ellen Hutson Essentials By Ellen clear stamp sets Lovely and Mondo Hydrangea. TheTotally fabulous dies are Essentials By Elllen also.
I embossed the card panel background using the We Are Memory Keepers quilt embossing folder. I stamped the flowers onto vellum, embossed them, and colored them Aqua with my markers, then attached them to the panel with glue dots. I stamped 'you are' onto an aqua scrap, and die cut 'totally' beside it. This die is unique, in that it cuts out the letters but leaves the bottom of each letter attached to the strip, so you can pull the letters up for dimension and a surprise element. I lined the back with a strip of the gold for a little extra dimension. Here is a close-up of the detail of these fabulous dies! Pun intended....
The bitty hearts are from a die by Impression-Obsession. A strip of gold along the edge finishes off my card.
I had a busy day today. Monday is a 'gym day,' so hubs and I did our work-outs, then ran a few errands. We are caring for our elderly neighbor, getting her going in the morning, giving her meds and breakfast, and helping her get dressed for the day, so we did that. I decided today was a good day to make some home-made tomato sauce. And I'm also on a simplifying/cleaning/sorting/getting rid of 'stuff' mood, so we have been working on that for a few days. Phew, I'm tired. But before I retire for the evening, I wanted to make at least one card, and write my blog post.
I am glad you stopped by today. Thank you for your comments. I hope you are keeping warm, and finding time to be creative in your little corner of the world!
