How I made my card:
  • I created an A2 card from natural card stock.  I used a Deckle Rectangle stencil to brush on some pink distress ink and create an area.  I lightly stamped the Script CAC stamp before removing the stencil.
  • Next, I took the inside portion of the stencil, and placed it over the area I had created.  I used embossing ink with foam applicator to create a border of embossing ink all around the area, then embossed with fine gold embossing powder for a border.
  • I gold-embossed the Happy Birthday verse, and used a graphite pencil to add some shading to the letters.
  • I gold-embossed the Budding Blossom onto a scrap piece of the natural card stock.  I colored this with Arteza Everblend alcohol markers.
  • I fussy-cut the blossom, and added it to the card front, with some gold pearl accents.
  • INSIDE:  I created another distress area as above, and stamped the Beautiful You verse with green ink.  I gold-embossed the Budding Bloom, and added that.
I hope you are enjoying our cards for the April Release.  There are so many fun stamps to work with.  Let me know in the comments which is YOUR favorite!

Impression Obsession Old Is New

Hello friends.  Today we are focusing on our older stamps at Impression Obsession.  I have always loved these pretty candy jars.  There are so many ways to use this, and dozens of color combinations begging to be tried!

Kitty Card With Real Brush Markers

Hello, friends.  Welcome to PaperArts Cafe.  I have this card on the Technique Junkies blog today, and the full details follow in my post here.  I just think this little kitty is adorable, don't you?

Stamp/Stencil Links:

How I made my card:
  • On bristol paper, I stamped the Where The Cat Is  image.
  • I used Arteza real brush markers to watercolor the image, using the brush markers and the water brush.  The verse is part of the stamp.
  • For the background, I used the ACLD Paws Stencil and my brush applicators through the stencil to create the background.  I distressed the edges of the panel with the same pink as I stenciled the paws with.
  • I added the panel, with a strip of pp, to a brown panel, then onto a pink A2 card front.
  • INSIDE: I stamped the kitty and stenciled some paws for the border.

I hope you are having a relaxing, enjoyable Sunday.  And I hope my card has inspired you to take some time to create something today.

Fall Leaves Stamp Made Summer

Hello!  I'm back today, with another card using a stamp from Technique Junkies September stamp release.  This is one of my favorites!

Here's how I made my card:
  • I started with a white A2 card, and placed one of the deckled rectangles from the Marvelous Masks Deckled Rectangles stencil set.  I placed one of the stencils onto my card front, and used my iBrush blending brushes to add distress ink in shades of greens and teal.  I need to tell you how much I love these deckled rectangles masking stencils!  There are eight stencils in this set, 4 positive and 4 negative.  I used the negative on the front, and one of the positives on the inside.
  • Leaving the stencil in place, I inked the Fall Leaves stamp with Ranger archival library green ink, and stamped it over the stencil.  The stencil edges kept the blending and the stamping withing the deckled border.  How spoiled are we?!
  • Inside, I used one of the positive smaller stencils and my brush applicators to ink the green border.  I stamped the verse from the Proverbs set within the white area.
I love the way the stencil offset the area for writing a note on the inside.

And that's it for another easy card from stamps in this new release.  I hope you are having fun with all the inspiration on the Design Junkies blog HERE.

I am adding my card to Joyce Ann's Dare To Get Dirty challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Fall Is In The Air Card

Happy Sunday!  It's a bright, albeit brisk, early autumn day here.  The perfect day for playing in my studio, creating yet another fall card.  I used an Impression Obsession stamp set and die.
IO Stamps/Dies:  Leaf Set clear stamp set WP684
                          French Text CAC CC151
                          Branch DIE007-L

I used ivory card stock to make an A2 card.  I used the A Colorful Life Designs Leaf Set 1 stencil with brush applicators to add distress inks to the card front.

**NOTE:  See my previous blog post HERE for a video link on how I did this, along with another card idea using the stencil.

I did add one more step to the way I did the technique in the video.  Do you see the script on some of the leaves in this card?  I just kept the stencil on after adding the color, and stamped the French Text stamp over it before removing.  Voila! Script!

I cut the Branch die twice from ivory card stock, and added distress inks, then attached them to the card front.

I stamped the verse from the Leaf Set  clear stamp set with rusty hinge distress ink, added it to some rust card stock, then added it to the card with foam tape for dimension.

Inside:
So, for the inside I used this fabulous layering Leaf Set from Impression Obsession.  I used the same colors on the stamps as I had used through the stencil, stamping them randomly, some full strength, and some second and third generation.

I hope you're having a relaxing and peaceful day, or a fun-filled active day, whichever you prefer.  I'm afraid to go downstairs, as our team (Buffalo Bills) were behind at half time.  I'm not hearing any yelling down there, so I'm assuming it's not going well.  Or it could be.  I'll find out soon enough.

I am adding my card to these challenges:
Little Red Wagon - Fall it
Mod Squad Challenge - A time for giving
The Paper Players - tic tac toe (orange, fall, leaves)
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything goes
Paper Funday - Inspiration picture

Thanks for checking in today.  I appreciate your visits and comments.
