Zentangle Quarantine Easter 2020 Project

Happy Easter!!  Like everyone, I am missing being with family this Easter.  I want to hug my kids, grandkids, and everyone!!  I know it could be much worse, so I am grateful for what we do have.  Technology that keeps us close through phones, FaceTime, and FaceBook.  Calls and long distance hugs and laughs with the kids and grands, food in the fridge and shelves, neighbors who are kind and thoughtful and look out for us, and some sunny days sprinkled in for our long walks along the river trail.

Zentangle is helping me stay sane through all of the long days.  My paper and pens are an extension of my thoughts and feelings.  My stress melts when I take pen to paper.  I am lost in the journey of the pen gliding in abandon to the paper.  The process is cathartic and soothing to my soul and balm to my spirit.  I emerge, to realize that this journey has played out in my art, my thoughts scribbled in strokes onto my paper canvas.

My tile today is done on desert storm card stock, using Micron 01 pen, pencil for shading, and white pitt pastel pen for highlights.

I started by drawing the cross, and writing Rejoice across the top.  Then just began tangling, and finally adding the words to the cross.

I hope you are finding all of the wonderful things God has for you this Easter.  In spite of the isolation, I pray you know that He is with us.  He goes before us, and will lead us through.  He loves you, and me.  Wherever we are, whatever our past, all is forgiven if we but reach out to him.

THAT is the good news of today's message, the Easter message of joy and hope!

May God richly bless you, through his Son Jesus,

Easter Basket Chick

Happy Sunday!  It's four weeks until Easter, but I thought I'd play with this cute Easter Basket stamp from Technique Junkies today.
I actually did the coloring at the motor vehicle office while I waited to renew my license.  I went with my colored pencil tote in hand, and some stamped images.  Clever me.  I never mind waiting when I have something creative or entertaining to do.

Once I was home, I finished the card.
All details for my card, including stamps used, inside, and techniques are on the Technique Junkies blog HERE.

I hope you are having a fabulous Sunday.  Thanks for taking some time to visit my blog.  I appreciate your visits, and your comments.

Happy Easter Challenge At Impression-Obsession

It's time for a new challenge at the Impression-Obsession blog .  The theme is Happy Easter.  And what says Easter more than Easter lilies?

I used stamps from the Impression-Obsession set:
Lilies Of The Field CL929

I water colored the image using Daniel Smith watercolors, then added shading and highlights with Polychromos colored pencils.
I studied some pictures of white flowers, and they all seemed to have colors in the white petals where there were shadow areas, not just gray.  So, I copied what I saw in nature.

I die-cut the image panel, and distressed the edges with soft pink distress ink, then added another stitched rectangle to layer it onto.  Then I added it all to a soft pink A2 card front.

I added the Blessed Easter (from the same stamp set), cut with an oval die, with foam tape.  Some pearl accents finish the front design.

I love the soft, spring colors of this gentle card.  White flowers are always a challenge for me to 'color.'  But I do love them.

For the inside:

I hope you will join us for this challenge.  You could just be a winner of a $25 gift certificate to the Impression-Obsession store!  You can't win if you don't play!

Impression-Obsession In The Pink Challenge

Welcome to the 'In The Pink' Impression-Obsession challenge!  I have a card to share today.

I kept my card really CAS, which is very difficult for me.  But, I like the look, sometimes, and particularly for this cross image, I wanted it to take center stage.  I felt anything I did with embellishing or other stamping would distract from it.

I started with a cream card stock panel, and used my blending brush to apply some worn lipstick distress ink in a loose cross shape.  I attached this panel to a pink A2 card front.

Next, I stamped the cross from the Cross of Flowers CL928 set using Ranger archival potting soil ink.  I used my Misti, as I wanted to make sure the image stamped nice and dark.  I colored this image with my
Arteza Fineliner Pens.  I just love these pens.  They have very fine tips, and the colors are fabulously brilliant.  You can check them out at Arteza HERE to see the colors and sets available.

I attached the cross to the card front with foam tape on the pink brushed area, then stamped, colored and added the Rejoice banner with foam tape.

For the inside, on cream card stock, I brushed some of the pink, stamped the small cross from the set, and the row of flowers in pink.  I stamped the Happy Easter and colored the cross flowers, and added it inside the card.

While everything was out, I thought I might as well decorate my envelope for a matching set....

I hope you are inspired to join our In The Pink Challenge.

You just might be lucky and win the $25 gift certificate to shop at the Impression-Obsession store.

Impression-Obsession Spring Release Blog Hop - Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the Impression-Obsession Spring Release Celebration.   I hope you have been enjoying the new stamps, and the cards and projects from the design team.

My card today features:
Bunny Tree J23004
Happy Easter A20657

I kept my card really simple today, as the image really steals the show.  Just a simple verse is all that is needed.

I created the background on matte coated card stock with a rubber brayer and a Kaleidoscope multi-colored stamp pad.  I love the spring colors in this pad.  A strip of black and white patterned paper along the left edge adds a bit of interest.

You can visit the other design team blogs HERE.  Remember, you can  comment here, and on each blog post, each day, for more chances to win an Impression-Obsession $25 gift certificate!  Comment entries will be open on all posts until Sunday, January 13th, and winners will be posted January 14th.
All of the new stamps are available now.  You can find them HERE.

Easter Joy!

I wanted to use Easter colors today, because they make me feel joyful.  So that is what inspired this card....

I started by creating my background.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks with glossy card stock.  I swiped the mini stamp pads across the paper, then turned it 90 degrees and swiped them again, alternating colors as I swiped.  These dried super quick.

On black card stock, I cut the Impression-Obsession Die 152-N along the left edge.  I lined the back with some of the background I had created.

I black-embossed the lilies, cross, and Rejoice from the Impression-Obsession MC73 Easter Lily clear set onto the background paper, then cut it into the shape of an Easter egg.  I mounted it to the card with craft foam, and added a pretty purple ribbon.

Easy-peasy, but I like the way it came out.

I am entering my card in these challenges:

Impression-Obsession - Pick A Holiday

Make My Monday - Easter Fun

Sunday Stamps - Easter palette

I hope you are making time to be creative and have fun.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate you taking the time to visit and love your comments.

Easter Blessings

Hello, and welcome.  My card today is all about textured cardstock.  I used Bazzil cardstock for the card base, and Bienfang Paper Canvas Canvasette for my image.

I love stamping and coloring on canvas types of backgrounds.  The texture can be challenging, but I love the way the texture makes the art look.

I stamped the bunny (Art Impressions Easter Blessings 4886K set) onto the canvas paper and colored him with Tombow markers, using my paintbrush and some water.  I used the Spellbinders egg die, and mounted it onto the card.  The embellishment die is also from Spellbinders.

Some gems finish off this simple card.

I am adding my card to:

Art Impressions - Perfect pastimes (napping!)

Addicted To Stamps - Holiday

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Easter inspired

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments and encouragement.

Be blessed,
