I needed a card to send to a friend who is going through some dark times, and could use some encouragement. I just wanted her to know I am thinking of her, and to give her hope.
Stamps are all Penny Black. The phrase is from their 30-429 Gift From Above set. I also used a phrase from that set on the inside of the card. The flowers/vase is from their Perfect Pairing set #30-346.
I added the striped patterned paper to a top-folding A-2 black card. I stamped the flowers/vase onto bristol smooth paper, and used my Derwent Inktense pencils to watercolor them, then fussy-cut them and adhered them to the card front with foam tape for dimension. I stamped the sentiment onto vellum and added that, and watercolored a strip of the same bristol with the colors I used on the flower, and added that. I brushed some glittery shimmer on the flowers with my Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.
Some assorted moonshine sequins from Simon Says Stamp finished off the card.
Inside of card - Pic taken before glue dried.
I added my card to these challenges:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Flowers
House of Cards challenge - Stripes and/or colors
Thank you for stopping by.
Blessings,
lynda

Sending Birthday Blessings Card
Today my card is all about black and white, and simplicity. I used the Altenew Peony Scrolls stamps. The images are embossed with black embossing powder, masked, and layered. The third peony is dimensionalized with some foam tape. The Sending die is from Simon Says Stamp, and is one of my favorites. I have been using it a lot lately. I cut it from black, attached that to the card, then in white, and slightly offset it. It gives it a different look, and is quite nice in person. Not so great in photo.
This did not photograph very well. The shimmer on the two flowers was done with a gel glitter pen. It had started running out of ink in the second flower, hence the slightly lighter effect. I chose to leave the third plain.
Hope you enjoy your day today. I am going to concentrate on trying to shake this cough. Vicks, vitamin C, and Emergen-C for me, and staying put with a book, rest, and some Zentangles and writing.
See you tomorrow with more cards!
Blessings,
lynda
