Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Too Cute To Spook

 

Hello, and welcome!  Today I have an inspiration card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The challenge this month is 'Too Cute To Spook.'

 

The stamps I used are older, and I don't have links.  I don't even know if they are still available.

 

I do have a link to that fabulous cloud stencil, however.  It's new from A Colorful Life Designs.  This photo doesn't show it, but you get both the inside (positived) and outside (negative) of the stencil.  Here's the link -

This stencil creates amazing clouds. Unlike most cloud stencils, it has eight edges to choose from if you use the negative and positive part of the stencil.  I will never use another stencil for clouds, now that I have this! 

Inside

I used bristol card stock, and stamped the kitty image, then masked the image and used distress ink with the stencil to brush on color, forming clouds.  I stamped the Trick or Treat long stamp faintly along the edge, and on the inside of the card.  I watercolored the image with distress inks, then stamped the Purr-fect halloween verse with black.

That's it!  Easy Peasy.

Impression Obsession Die-Cut Obsession

I have a halloween themed card today...

IO DIES:

Cauldron DIE1009-F

Alphabet Plain Lower Case DIE157-E for 'boo!'

3/8 Inch Buttons DIE1002-E

Circle punches for 'bubbles' 

This was a fun, easy card.  Here's what I did:

• I layered a square black card with purple, white and orange cs.
• I cut the Cauldron die from black glossty cs, and added it to the card front.
• I hand-cut a bit of green cs for the inside of the cauldron, and punched with punches from my stock, and added various size circles from the lime green. 
• I hand-cut the white banner, and added the die cut letters, cut from the Lower Case Alphabet die.
• A button cut from the 3/8 Inch Buttons die, layered for dimension, and tied with some white string added to the banner.

And that, my friends, is all there is to it.  An easy, fun halloween card.

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession - Haunted House Card

It's Monday here, and time for Impression Obsession's Die Cut Obsession!  It's always a fun time when we get to play with our fabulous dies.  I used one IO halloween die, and cut the pieces into several elements to use around my 'haunted house.'  I love getting more miles from my dies by taking the die cuts apart to use on my projects.

 

I am adding this to Jen's Dare To Get Dirty challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  It's been a fabulous week of challenges with so many fun themes!

Here's how I made my card...

• On a white A2 card, I masked off the border with washi tape, then brushed light gray distress ink inside the taped off section.  I had masked
  
  off the moon with a circle mask before I did this.  
• I used a cloud stencil from my stash to create the clouds by brushing color over it onto the area.  I have since received my new cloud stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, which I can't wait to use.  I have been seeing it used all over, and the clouds are so realistic with that stencil.  I will be making more cloud cards soon with that one.
  
• I removed the tape, then stamped the Haunted House 2 stamp onto white card stock, and colored it with Polychromos colored pencils. I fussy-cut the house, and added it to the card front over the background I had created.
• I cut the pieces from black card stock from the Halloween Scene die, and added them to the card front.
• I brushed some purple along the border where the tape was. 
• Inside:  I stamped Happy Halloween and added a piece of the die cut.

Impression Obsession Halloween or Fall Colors Challenge

 

Hello, and welcome to the Impression Obsession Halloween or Fall Colors Challenge!  I couldn't decide, so I made one of each!  I used the same card layout, but different stamps and papers.

Here are my cards.  Directions are below both of them.

I used patterned paper from my stash for both cards and Impression Obsession stamps.  I stamped the images onto white card stock, die cut them, and colored them with Arteza real brush markers.  

I created the banners with the words from scrap card stock, stamped them, then cut the 'v' from the one side, then tucked it under the image, which I had foam taped to the card's front.  Buttons and bows from bakers twine finish them off.

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession - BOO!

Welcome to our Die Cut Obsession day at Impression Obsession!  We are featuring dies on our blogs today.   And, here is my card....

I had so much fun making this cute little halloween card.  

Here's are my steps:

• Cut the Ghost die from white card stock, and used the negative part, adding vellum behind the cut-out.  Added that to an orange panel, from which I had removed the center. 
• Added the panel to a white A2 card front.
• Cut the spider, face, and 'Boo' from black, and added them to the card.
• Created my own background paper by stamping the CAC Gingham in black onto orange card stock.  Cut a strip of that for the left edge of card.

I added ribbon knots and buttons.  I colored white buttons with an orange Copic marker.

TIP:  for the 'thread' in the buttons, I trimmed a very narrow sliver of black card stock from a scrap piece, and put it through the holes, securing them with glue dots.

Boo Kitties

I'm back today with another die card using new dies from the Impression Obsession Fall Die Release.  Just can't stop playing with these dies!!  I am sharing a halloween card idea today....

Oh, I had fun with this card!  Even the inside has a kitty in it.

I started by layering some patterned paper to a lavendar A2 card.   

I created a tag with the Stitch Tag die, added some clear multi medium matte for drops, and distressed it with distress inks dusty concord and hickory smoke.  I used the Hill Landscapes Layers die cut for the till.  I used a reverse circle mask for the moon, and brushed on squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, and carved pumpkin distress inks. 

I added a branch from the Tree Frame, and one of the Two Kitties.  Some yellow and white string through the tag hole, sequins, and handwritten 'Boo' finish the front. 

 

Inside:
I cut another tag from pp, and added the other kitty, the banner from the tag set, and some sequins.  I hand-wrote Happy Halloween.

I Love You More Than Candy Corn Halloween Card

Greetings!  I thought I would post a card I made for the Impression-Obsession Challenge . 

The challenge theme at IO is 'You're an animal.'  Owls are animals, yes?  And I just adore these cute little Impression-Obsession owl stamps (B7800 Owl on Hat and D7801 Owl on Head.  I stamped, colored them with Copics, then fussy-cut them and layered them onto a die cut heart (die unknown).  It is actually two stamps, which I stacked.  The verse is also Impression-Obsession (A14476) More Than Candy Corn.  

I added some Simon Says Stamp Assorted Moonshine sequins, and layered the heart on an A2 card, layered with some candy corn designer paper and a strip of purple.  
I added some feathers and a pretty shimmery orange ribbon and bow for a whimsical touch.

This will be our halloween card for my six year old granddaughter.  Now I have to make one for her older sister.

NOW for some news I've been waiting to tell you, which will explain why I haven't posted much here in the past four weeks.  (don't worry, I'm back)!   I am now on the Dirty Dozen Design Team for SplitCoastStampers!  I received an email about four weeks ago from Lydia, asking me if I would be interested in being on the design team.  It really took me by surprise!  I am honored and delighted to represent SCS.  I have been working furiously, making cards for the October theme challenge (Creepy Crawlies), and learning the 'behind the scenes' ropes.  Mine and the other 11 Dirty Dozen design team members six cards each will be posted in the October theme gallery.  The monthly theme challenge is available to be viewed and entered by SplitCoastStamper Fan Club members.  The other galleries are open to anyone.  Here is a link to the Splitcoaststampers site.  I hope you will stop by to see all the amazing cards.  
SCS is a fun community, with daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, tutorials, and hundreds of members' galleries.

More Hands, More Candy Halloween Card

This stamp just made me smile, so it had to come home with me when I saw it!  Since I absolutely fear and dread spiders, I'm surprised that this stamp even made it into my cart...but it was just too cute to pass up.  Besides, it's not creepy and crawly.
Here is the card I made with it....

I started by stamping the spider lady (Art Impressions (4641 More candy) with India Ink black, then colored her with Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils.  I added some lines around her pupil to create an iris in her eyes, added some white dots with my white Signo gel pen, and some black glitter with my at you Spica black glitter pen to her gloves, collar, and boots.

Then I created a mask for the image with Judi Kins masking paper, and masked the image.  I used my Clarity stencil brushes, and The Crafter's Workshop stencil Mini Reversed Branches, to create the tree background.  I used TH distress inks on the background.  Next, I brushed green around the edges, leaving the center white, which created a highlight for the cute little spider lady to take center stage.  I used some Art Impressions grass for her to pose on.

Some bats finished off the panel.  I trimmed the panel down, and layered it onto some matching card stock, then onto an orange card.  The happy halloween is a stamp from my stash, which had been taken off the wood, so I'm afraid I do not know details about it.

Halloween Cake Card

And you thought halloween wasn't a cake eating occasion!  Well, here's the halloween cake to prove it is......

The stamp I used is from Impression-Obsession - Halloween Cake F16120.  I stamped it onto white card stock, and colored it with my polychromos colored pencils.  I fussy-cut it out, then layered it onto a piece of scrap purple card stock, and roughly cut around the cake.  I layered an A2 card with purple and green spider web background papers, added a halloween die cut happy halloween tag, some black ribbon, and some black crystals.

I made this card for the Impression-Obsession Challenge - Trick or treat.
