Impression Obsession Challenge - It's Snow Time

Hello lovely peeps!  Welcome to my blog, and my post for the Impression Obsession Challenge "It's Snow Time."  I have lots of snow on my card today....
IO Stamps/Dies Links:
Snowy Friends WP984
Snowflakle Sparkle CL972
Sm. Snowflake Set DIE100-F
Hill Landscape Layers DIE343-T

This was such a fun card to create!  I really enjoyed the process.

I stamped the snowpeople images onto white card stock, and colored them with my Polychromos colored pencils.  For the snowbanks, I used distress inks in light blues and some paper 'hills' I made with the landscape dies.  I brushed the ink up from the hill masks to create the shadow areas.

I used the landscape dies to create a snow bank under the images, and added that to the panel, then attached the panel to a blue A2 card front.  A strip of red and white peppermint stripe pp edges the left side of the panel.  I added the verse with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne.

I added die cut snowflakes, then used glue to adhere glitter to the flakes and to other elements on the card front.

Inside:  I stamped some snow flakes in white pigment ink, and added a strip of the peppermint stripe paper.
That's it.  Easy and fun!  Don't you just love the cheery expressions on these snowpeeps?  And the fun wintertime elements.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you will join our challenge this time.  You just might win a prize, you never know.  And who wouldn't love a $25 gift certificate this time of year!

Stop on over at the Impression Obsession blog to see the other designer's projects HERE.  Hope to see you in the challenge!

Sweet Thankful Snowman

I just adore this precious little snowman from Penny Black!  He makes me smile!
I used Penny Black stamps:
Sweet snowman 40-006 (main image)
Salutations 30-014 (Thank you)
Winter whites & greens 30-057 (tree and embossed snowflakes)
Inside of card:  Jolly friends 30-058 (hat and snowflake)

I stamped the snowman onto an A2 card and used watercolor and Tombow markers to paint him.  I masked him and stamped the tree behind him, and added some Faber Castell pastel with a cotton ball.  I made some 'hills' by cutting a paper scrap into curved shapes, then rubbed the pastels over the paper onto the card.

The snowflakes are embossed with Judi-Kins agean silver embossing powder.  In real life these snowflakes twinkle with lots of sparkly, colors.

Inside I stamped the thank you, and fussy-cut the hat from the snowman in the jolly friends set, along with some snowflakes.

Tomorrow I will be making my pies for Thanksgiving, and getting the house ready for the 'kids.'  I love family gatherings, especially at the holidays.  We are blessed, indeed, to have our family, and I cherish every moment with them.

Blessings, and happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate!

Snowy Kisses Holiday Card

The stamping card challenge theme at Impression-Obsession this week is Christmas In July.  Since it's been so hot these past few days, I thought I would do some winter themed stamping....hoping to feel some of the coolness.
The girl kissing snowman stamp is from Impression-Obsession (E11118), as is the 'Magic' verse (B5480).  I stamped the image and verse with India Ink Black ink, and water colored them with Kuretaki Gansai Tambi watercolor paints.

I added sparkle to the snowman with my Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.  I added sparkle for snowflakes with Stardust Stickles.  Some sparkly fiber give it the finishing touch.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Impression-Obsession Challenge - Christmas in July

Little Red Wagon Challenge - Sing a song (Frosty the snowman)

Thank you for visiting my blog.  I hope my card helped you cool down a bit.  I'm still hot!  Time for a watermelon break.

Blessings,

lynda

Snowman Birthday Card

Winter birthdays are fun.  They give us something to celebrate after the memories of the holidays have waned, and the long winter days and nights drag on.  Our family, with the exception of hubby, whose birthday is in April, all has winter birthdays!   Daughter in December, son-in-law in January, one granddaughter in December, and the other granddaughter in November.  Then there's me, right at the beginning of March!

Today's card is for my bbf's son, whose birthday is next week....
Stamps:  Penny black snowman, various Penny Black clear stamp sets for presents, snowflakes, and verse.
Dies:  Our Daily Bread Designs double stitched rectangles
Medium:  Copic markers
Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush

I stamped the snowman onto a card stock panel and colored him with Copics.  Since he had a sprig of mistletoe or holly in his hand, I cut out some presents and used a craft knife to make them look as though one is tucked under his arm and he is holding the other.  I added the snowman panel, and the frame to an A2 card.  Some snowflakes with sparkle from the shimmer brush, and a stamped and punched verse finish the card.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Thanks so much for visiting.  Please stop back soon.
