Love Vase With Leaf Background

How sweet is this Love Vase image from Impression Obsession?  It's whimsical, and just so adorable.  The posies are fun to color, and the size is perfect for a card, or a tag.

IO stamps/die links:

How I made it:
  • From bristol paper, I die cut the Large Frame die and used the center panel to stamp the Love Vase image.
  • I used Arteza brush markers to watercolor the flowers and vase.  I used a water brush with the markers.
  • I used a blending brush to distress the edges of the panel, then attached it to a gray panel a bit larger.
  • I stamped the image again, partially, onto a scrap piece of the bristol, and colored them, fussy cut them, and added them to the bottom of the panel.
  • For the green background panel, I stamped the Large Leaf Branch randomly all over the panel with the VersaMark Watermark pad.
  • I attached the image panel to the background panel with foam tape, then attached the whole shebang to a white A2 card front.
  • INSIDE:  I layered another green panel, then distressed the edges of a white panel, and stamped a bit of the leaf branch, and added some fussy cut flowers from the Love Vase image.

Kitty Card With Real Brush Markers

Hello, friends.  Welcome to PaperArts Cafe.  I have this card on the Technique Junkies blog today, and the full details follow in my post here.  I just think this little kitty is adorable, don't you?

Stamp/Stencil Links:

How I made my card:
  • On bristol paper, I stamped the Where The Cat Is  image.
  • I used Arteza real brush markers to watercolor the image, using the brush markers and the water brush.  The verse is part of the stamp.
  • For the background, I used the ACLD Paws Stencil and my brush applicators through the stencil to create the background.  I distressed the edges of the panel with the same pink as I stenciled the paws with.
  • I added the panel, with a strip of pp, to a brown panel, then onto a pink A2 card front.
  • INSIDE: I stamped the kitty and stenciled some paws for the border.

Impression Obsession Challenge - Summer Fun!

It's August, and time for a new Impression Obsession challenge!  The theme for this month's challenge is Summer Fun.  Let's grab the last bit of summer and live it up!
You can find details about the challenge on the IO blog post HERE.

I went with a water theme for my summer fun card.  I thought these little fishies looked like they were having fun!
IO Stamp Links:

On bristol card stock, I created the waves background with blues and greens  distress inks.

I colored the fishies from the Fishies Set with Arteza Everblend alcohol markers.  I fussy-cut the fish images, and added them to the waves panel.
I added some white dots and markings with a white gel pen.

I stamped the verse from the Vitamin Sea Set and bordered it with blue cardstock, then added it to the panel with foam tape.

I added the panel to a blue A2 card, and stamped some of the bubbles and seaweed.

Inside, I kept it simple with some stamped images...
And that's it!  I hope you enjoyed this fun, easy card!

Check out the other designer's blogs for more inspiration.  You can find their post links HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I appreciate your visits and your comments.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Nature

Happy Saturday!  And happy Independence Day July 4th to all my American friends!   Today starts the new Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The optional theme is Nature.  I chose to use birds on my card today.  I have been enjoying watching the birds in my backyard garden this summer, so I am inspired to use them on my nature card.
Penny Black stamps:

I stamped the birds on branch image,The Sweetest Sound,  onto watercolor paper in my Misti.  I used Arteza Real Brush Markers to 'ink' the image.  I added more blossoms to the branch with the markers.

I added some color to the background by brushing some color from the real brush markers onto a ceramic palette  then using a water brush to add some watered down color to the background.  I then added some images from some older PB stamps for background interest.

I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink to add the verse, from the Special Thoughts set.

Inside, I used the Gifts From Above set.  I thought this verse was inspiring for these times in which we are living.

I hope you are inspired to join us in the fun at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this month.

Thanks so much for visiting today.  I appreciate you comments.

Blessings,

Summer Flowers Challenge at Impression Obsession

It's no secret that I LOVE flowers.  They are my favorite subject to color, draw, paint, and art.  As I write this post, I am sitting in the center of my garden, on a deck my hubby built for me.  I am surrounded by flowers, plants, birds, and critters.  The sun is shining, and I have my  projects that I need to write posts for.  I'm in my happy place!

Sweet pea flowers grew all around my childhood home; they bring back fond memories.  When I saw this beautiful stamp, I just had to have it.  So, here is my card....
IO Stamps Links:
Sweet Peas L13510
Life Is Sweet D12219
Wildflower Silhouettes WP1003
Good In Every Day D20746

I decided to create a slimline card today.  The longer, narrow shape is something different, and it appeals to me. Variety IS the spice of life, right?

I cut my base card stock 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" and scored at 3 3/4" for my card.  My stamped panel is watercolor paper, onto which I stamped the Sweet Peas image.  I used Arteza real brush markers to 'ink' the image (in my Misti).

To watercolor the image, I also used Arteza brush markers.  I rubbed color from the brushes onto a ceramic tile, and picked up the color with a water brush, using it like paint.

For the smaller, solid type leaves around the image, I used one of the leaf stamps from the Wildflower Silhouettes clear set.

I stamped the Life Is Sweet verse with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, my favorite ink for dark, crisp, clean stamping.  I cut the word sweet from the stamp, so that I could use the verse either straight out or stacked, as I did here.  I hand-drew a double line around the image.  I like the look of framing an image this way.

Inside, I stamped the Sweet Peas image with distress inks, and stamped the Good In Every Day verse with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink.

I do hope you are enjoying the inspiration from the design team for this challenge, which you can find HERE.

Join us in the fun, and you just might win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression Obsession store!  And, starting with this month, our challenges will be a month long.  You have until August 4th to enter your cards/projects.

I am adding my card to these other challenges:
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Bright and cheerful
Simply Less Is More - OLC Solid and Outline
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything goes
Watercooler Challenge - Anything goes feminine
The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge - Day 2

Thanks for visiting my blog today!
