I have two cards for your inspiration today.

Card One: Palm Trees Sunset
IO Stamps links:

How I made it:
  • On a white A2 card, I stamped the Hammock Time with light colored ink in order to color it with no lines showing.
  • I used Polychromos colored pencils to color the image.
  • I created the background with distress inks and a blending brush, and added colored pencils details.
  • I stamped the Celebrate verse in black.
  • INSIDE:  I stamped the Happy Retirement verse, and added distressing over it, and stamped the palm tree from the Hammock Time stamp.
Inside

Card Two:  Adventure Awaits
IO stamps links:

How I made it:
  • With a piece of window screening, I used it as a 'stencil' and created the background on a natural A2 card front and inside, using distress ink with a blending brush.
  • For the image panel, I created a subtle sky and background with distress inks and brush applicators.
  • I stamped the Take A Break image.  I painted the image with Derwent Inktense pencils and water.
  • I stamped the palm trees from the Hammock Time image and colored them with the Inktense, touching them up with colored pencil.
  • I added the verse Adventure Awaits.
  • INSIDE:  I stamped the Happy Retirement verse and pine tree from the Hammock Time stamp, coloring with Inktense.

Watercolor and Doodles With February Release IO Stamps

It's Friday here, and I'm sharing a hug for the upcoming weekend.  Doesn't this girl look so joyful?!  She's probably dreaming, like we are, of the days when we will once again hug our loved ones, and hold them tight again!  For now, I am sending my hugs via cards, text, and FaceTime.

IO stamps links:

How I made my card:
  • On watercolor paper, I stamped the Hug Girl image and Here's A Hug verse with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.
  • I watercolored the image with Derwent Inktense pencils.  These 'pencils' contain solid ink, which is water soluble, and makes the most fantastic watercolor medium.  They give more control then regular watercolors, and there are many techniques for using them.
  • I doodled a frame around the verse, and doodled some flowers and leaves on the ground, then colored them with the Inktense.
  • For the background, I added water to my blue pencil, and let the pigment build up on my palette, then used it like paint to brush on the sky.  I did the same for the ground, with brown.
  • I added the panel, along with a black & white striped pp piece along the edge, to a lavender A2 card front.
  • INSIDE:  I stamped the Day Filled With Love verse.

This was another fun card to make.  It made me smile, and I thought that was something we could all use this long winter.

I hope you are enjoying the Impression Obsession February Release stamps You can find all of the new stamps HERE.
We have been enjoying using them on our cards.

On Wednesday we will be back with our release favorites hop, where we will each post our favorite card from the release.  I hope you will join us for the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I appreciate your visit and your comments.

I have two cards for your inspiration today.

Card One: Kitty Made With Love Tags
IO Stamps:

How I made my card:
  • I layered a panel of leaf vine pp onto an ivory A2 card front and distressed the edges with distress ink.
  • I lined the larger tag with pp, and wrapped a ribbon around it and tied with a button.  I added a ribbon to the top.
  • I stamped and watercolored the Kitty Hug image, fussy cut it, and added it to the tag.
  • On the smaller tag, I stamped the Made For You verse, distressed the edges, and added some buttons and ribbon.
  • I attached the tags to the card front.
  • INSIDE:  I added some pp, and a partial image of the Kitty Hug, and the Sending Hugs verse.

    INSIDE

Card Two:  Sending A Big Squeeze

IO Stamps Links:

How I made it:
  • I lined a white A2 card front with patterned papers in yellows and black and white, and added a button with some twine.
  • I embossed the Big Squeeze verse with white embossing powder.
  • I used Derwent Inktense pencils to watercolor the Lemon, and fussy-cut it and added it to the front with foam tape.
  • INSIDE:  I distressed an area, and stamped the Lemon image.

Heavenly Mansions

I'm sharing this little sneak peak - a part of my Bible Journaling Page for John 14:2.  The full page, and my brief insights, are posted on my blog, A Little Perspective; Living in Joy, Hope, and Grace.

I would love for you to hop on over there and visit, and let me know your thoughts.

I used Derwent Inktense pencils for my drawings.

Thanks for taking the time to look.  I do appreciate your comments!

Chrysanthemum Trio Inspirational Card

Greetings!  Welcome.

And here is yet another card made with an Art Gone Wild Catherine Scanlon designed stamp.  Did I mention how much I love these stamps?  I couldn't help myself, and had to have this one, also, Chrysanthemum Trio #AGC3-2744.
I stamped the flowers onto watercolor paper, and water colored them with Caron D'Ache watercolor crayons, then added lots of Derwent Inktense pencils to deepen and make the colors more bold.  As it nears fall, I'm looking forward to those rich, jewel colors in nature.  Just thought I'd give us a little preview here.

The verse is from Penny Black's Hope Shines clear stamp set.  Some clear droplets from Studio Katia finish off my card.

I am adding my card to:

The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge

Happy Little Stampers watercolor challenge - Anything goes optional spritz

I hope you are having a good week.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Blessings,

lynda

Hope In The Lord Challenge Card

I needed a card to send to a friend who is going through some dark times, and could use some encouragement.  I just wanted her to know I am thinking of her, and to give her hope.
Stamps are all Penny Black.  The phrase is from their 30-429 Gift From Above set.  I also used a phrase from that set on the inside of the card.  The flowers/vase is from their Perfect Pairing set #30-346.

I added the striped patterned paper to a top-folding A-2 black card.  I stamped the flowers/vase onto bristol smooth paper, and used my Derwent Inktense pencils to watercolor them, then fussy-cut them and adhered them to the card front with foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the sentiment onto vellum and added that, and watercolored a strip of the same bristol with the colors I used on the flower, and added that.  I brushed some glittery shimmer on the flowers with my Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen.

Some assorted moonshine sequins from Simon Says Stamp finished off the card.
Inside of card - Pic taken before glue dried.

I added my card to these challenges:

Penny Black Saturday Challenge  - Flowers

House of Cards challenge - Stripes and/or colors

Thank you for stopping by.

Blessings,
