Impression Obsession Old Is New Day - Victorian Hearts

Hello friends.  Today we are sharing cards using some of Impression Obsession older stamps.  I reached way back, and pulled out this fabulous heart quartet.  It's always been one of my favorites.

IO stamps links:

How I made my card:
  • I stamped the Victorian Heart stamps onto pale pink card stock, using distress inks Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Frayed Burlap.

  • I used the same inks and applied distressing to each heart with ink applicator brushes.  I fussy-cut the hearts, and set them aside.
  • On a pale pink A2 card front, I used a Swirl Grid stencil to brush in the stencil design with the same colors of distress inks.
  • I stamped the love word from the Kindness Words set.
  • I added the hearts to the front, along with some twine and pearls, for added texture and dimension.
  •
  • INSIDE:  I added a bit of the stencil design and another heart.

Love Vase With Leaf Background

How sweet is this Love Vase image from Impression Obsession?  It's whimsical, and just so adorable.  The posies are fun to color, and the size is perfect for a card, or a tag.

IO stamps/die links:

How I made it:
  • From bristol paper, I die cut the Large Frame die and used the center panel to stamp the Love Vase image.
  • I used Arteza brush markers to watercolor the flowers and vase.  I used a water brush with the markers.
  • I used a blending brush to distress the edges of the panel, then attached it to a gray panel a bit larger.
  • I stamped the image again, partially, onto a scrap piece of the bristol, and colored them, fussy cut them, and added them to the bottom of the panel.
  • For the green background panel, I stamped the Large Leaf Branch randomly all over the panel with the VersaMark Watermark pad.
  • I attached the image panel to the background panel with foam tape, then attached the whole shebang to a white A2 card front.
  • INSIDE:  I layered another green panel, then distressed the edges of a white panel, and stamped a bit of the leaf branch, and added some fussy cut flowers from the Love Vase image.

Kitty Card With Real Brush Markers

Hello, friends.  Welcome to PaperArts Cafe.  I have this card on the Technique Junkies blog today, and the full details follow in my post here.  I just think this little kitty is adorable, don't you?

Stamp/Stencil Links:

How I made my card:
  • On bristol paper, I stamped the Where The Cat Is  image.
  • I used Arteza real brush markers to watercolor the image, using the brush markers and the water brush.  The verse is part of the stamp.
  • For the background, I used the ACLD Paws Stencil and my brush applicators through the stencil to create the background.  I distressed the edges of the panel with the same pink as I stenciled the paws with.
  • I added the panel, with a strip of pp, to a brown panel, then onto a pink A2 card front.
  • INSIDE: I stamped the kitty and stenciled some paws for the border.
Inside

I hope you are having a relaxing, enjoyable Sunday.  And I hope my card has inspired you to take some time to create something today.

Peony Heart Card

Yesterday I posted a card using the Peony Pattern background
from Impression Obsession's January release.
Today, the focus is the Peony Heart, which has a
complimenting smaller peony pattern.
Different colors also give such different feels to the cards.

IO Stamps/Die Links:

How I made it:
  • For the background panel, I stamped the Peony Pattern Cover-A-Card background onto white card stock, using distress ink.  I 'stamped off' first on scrap paper, so that I would get just a faint design.
  • I layered the panel onto some light green card stock, then onto a dark green A2 card front.
  • Onto a die cut square of white card stock, I stamped the Peony Heart image with the same color ink.  I layered this onto the same colors card stock, and added it to the card with foam tape to give dimension.
  • I used the Love die to create the green love word, and added that, with some silver foil pearls.
  • INSIDE:  I used one of A Colorful Life's Marvelous Masks Deckled Rectantle stencils to block the inside area of the white panel, then stamped the Day Filled With Love verse.  Then I used a blending brush to add some green distressing around the stencil, and stamped the Peony Pattern over it.  I love when I remove the stencil with this technique.  It's like magic!  It looks layered, yet sit is one layer!
    Inside

I hope you like my card.  I enjoy trying to get different looks from my stamps, don't you?

Thanks so much for visiting today, and for your lovely comments.

So Glad There's YOU!

Today I have a card using a fabulous background stamp
and a lovely heart stamp from the
Impression Obsession January 2021 stamp release.
You can find the full release stamps on the IO website HERE.

IO Stamps links:

How I made my card:
  • On a white card stock panel, I stamped the Peony Pattern Cover-A-Card stamp, using my Misti and distress ink. The Misti allows me to ink and stamp again, until I get the desired coverage.
  • I used the same ink, and distressed the edges with a brush ink applicator, then attached the panel to a white A2 card front.
  • I stamped the Floral Heart Line image onto a white piece of card stock, and trimmed it, then added it to a piece a bit wider, so that it has a border.  Before I added it to the image to the border piece, I ran the same stamp pad along both top and bottom edges, so that the border would be the same color as the inked images.
  • For the verse, I used a verse from the Warm Fuzzies Sentiments.  Since this is a clear stamp set, I was able to slightly curve the stamp when I placed it on my block, so that the words ran along the curve of the image.  I attached this to the card.
  • INSIDE: I stamped the Peony Heart with the same distress ink, keeping an area blank for a personal note.
    Inside

That's it for my card today.  I hope are enjoying the new IO release this month.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Theme Day - Follow Your Heart Hedgehogs

We have set aside a day to share some fun themed projects
This month's theme is hearts!
Have fun checking out what our Designers have made today.
Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession blog.

IO Stamps/Die links:

How I made my card:
  • I stamped the Hedgehog Girl and Hedgehog Boy images onto bristol card stock, using Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I made a mask for the hedgehogs, and covered them.  I also put a piece of painter's tape along the bottom of the panel, to keep that part white.
  • I used my blending brushes to add pistachio distress ink, fading out from the taped edge to the top, the removed the masks.
  • I painted the hedgehogs, using Derwent Inktense pencils and a waterbrush.
  • I stamped the Follow Your Heart verse with red ink, then tied a twisted red and white string with heart button around the panel, along the meeting of the green and white areas.  I added some of the mini heart die cuts from the Mini Heart Row DIE, and some to the inside, as well.
  • I attached the panel to a slightly larger piece of green card stock, then onto a white small slimline card front.
  • INSIDE:  I added a strip of the card stock that I had used for the layer along the bottom, then used a heart stencil to brush some of the same green ink for a heart center.  I used the red ink to stamp the One Day At A Time verse.
    Inside

And that is it for my Heart Theme card today.  Don't forget to check out the other participating designer's projects HERE.

Watercolor Background With Heart Vine

Technique Junkies stamps links:

How I made it:
  • On watercolor paper, I created a watercolor background, using the
smoosh method.  I rubbed some distress inks in red, pink, and brown onto my glass mat, then spritzed it with water.  I placed the watercolor paper panel into the inky goodness, and repeated this a couple of times.
  • When dry, I stamped the Valentine Heart Border, using my Misti so that I could stamp a few times to get the most intense image.  I love the flowy, graceful curves of this stamp.
  • I stamped the verse from the Anniversary Sentiments set in archival brown ink, again, in my Misti.
  • I attached the panel to a light brown A2 card front.
  • INSIDE:  I stamped the Valentine Heart Border, then a verse from the same Anniversary Sentiments set.
    Inside

It Takes A Village Fun Card

I thought we could all use a little chuckle today.  This stamp made me smile, so I am posting this card using a stamp and stencil from the Technique Junkies January 2021 release.

TJ Stamp/Stencil links:

How I made my card:
  • On coated matte card stock, I stamped the It Takes A Village image, using Arteza Real Brush Markers to color the stamp.  I did this in my Misti, so that I could get the depth of color I wanted.  I spattered some dark gray ink over the background.

  • I mounted this piece onto a red card stock panel.  I created the scoring on the border of this red square by using two square dies with the rubber sheet and a plate in my die cutting machine.
  • On a piece a kraft card stock, I used distress inks with the Messy Diamond Grid Stencil to create a background.  I tore the panel, and added it to a black A2 card front.
  • I added the image piece .
  • INSIDE:  I added some of the red and a portion of the diamond pattern background, with a piece of the white for writing a note.
    Inside

I hope you are enjoying all the inspiration from the designers for this release.  You may use my code, TJ10Lynda, for 10% off your entire purchase at the Technique Junkies store.

Stamping On Kraft Card Stock - God Within Image

Happy Sunday.  Today I have a card featuring on of the Technique Junkies January release stamps.

Technique Junkies stamps links:

God Is Within Her

Such a perfect image for the times in which we are living now!  This verse is a positive reminder of who is in control, and from where our strength comes!

How I made my card:
  • I stamped and black embossed the God Is Within Her image onto an A2 sized kraft card, and used Pitt pastel pencils to color the image.
  • With a .01 Micron black pen, I drew the background lines onto another piece of kraft card stock.  I cut the panel to fit on the card front, ripping a torn edge about 1/3 of the way down, and attached it to the card front.
  • I stamped the  Dogwood branch onto a kraft card stock scrap, hand drew some leaves, colored them with the pastels, and fussy cut them, adding them to the card front.
  • INSIDE, I drew more of the lines, and added a third flower from the same dogwood image.
    Inside

I hope you like my card.  As always, you can get 10% off your entire order at Technique Junkies with my code, TJ10Lynda

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Something New

Hello, friends.  It's the first Saturday of the month, and that means it's time for a new challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme is always Anything Goes, and this month's optional is Something New.
The stamp I used isn't new to the PB line, but it is new to me, so I went with it.

PB Stamps:
Various older stamps in background
Critter Party (older clear set)

How I made my card:
  • On desert sand card stock, I white embossed the Scented Beauty image.
  • I used finger sponge daubers to add distress inks in scattered straw and ripe persimmon to the flowers, and peeled paint and forest moss to the leaves.  I wiped off the embossing with a soft clean cloth.
  • For the background, I used the same daubers to carry some of the colors around the image, then stamped some older stamps faintly intermittently.
  • I stamped the happy birthday from the Critter Party set.
  • I distressed the edges with ripe persimmon distress ink, and added some pearl accents.
  • INSIDE:  I distressed the inside, then stamped a verse from the Faith Clear set, and added some background stamping.
Inside

I hope you will join us for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  You never know, you just might win a prize!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Floral Heart H20902 (flowers around verse)
How I made it:
  • On white bristol card stock, I white embossed the Peony Pattern.
  • I used Shabby Shutters distress ink, and an applicator, to create the background color by brushing the color over the entire panel, over the embossing.  I used a soft clean cloth to clean the ink off of the embossing.
  • I attached the image panel to a white A2 card front.
  • I stamped the Happy Together verse with the same green ink, and attached it to the card front.
  • I white embossed the Floral Heart image, painted the flowers, and fussy cut the flowers and added them to the card front along and behind the verse panel.
  • INSIDE:  I stamped the Day Filled With Love verse with the same green distress ink.

Card Two: Day Filled With Love

IO Stamps/Dies Links:
Inside

How I made it:
  • I cut branches from the Leafy Branch die from soft green card stock, and added them to a white card stock panel.
  • I cut lavender hearts from the Mini Hearts Row die, and added them
  • I cut the Stitched Tag die, and cut the bottom off, and with a harlequin pattern stencil, I brushed lavender and green distress inks to create a pattern on the tag.
  • I stamped Day Filled With Love verse on the tag, added some silk ribbons, and added them to the panel with the die cuts.
  • I added the panel to a lavender A2 card front.
  • INSIDE: I used a stencil and distress inks to add some leaf branches.
