Winners will be announced on Monday, May 6th.

You can find the new stamps HERE.  They are available now.

For my card today, I used the fabulous Sketched Pear stamp and stitched tag die.
Stamps:
Dies:  Hugs DIE516-A
         Stitched Tag DIE798-Y

I decided to make a collage-style card today.  On a white A2 card front (and inside left side), I stamped the
Vegetable Medley image.  This is one of our Cover-A-Card stamps, so it was easy to cover the entire background with just one stamping..nothing to line up, etc.

I tore some green textured card stock, and added it, curling some of the edges to give it a distressed look.

On a die-cut Stitched Tag, I stamped the French Text CAC faintly, leaving the center blank for the pear.  I stamped the Sketched Pear with antique linen distress ink.  I colored the pear with my Polychromos colored pencils.

This took quite a while, as I am recovering from a broken wrist, and had to color with a brace on my hand, making it a bit tricky.  I took lots of rest breaks, so as not to stress the wrist too much.

I believe that we can learn something from our trials and setbacks.  Since I couldn't put much pressure on the pencil, I learned to take my time and layer the pencil colors ever so gradually, building them up and blending them out using a very light touch.  The Polychromos layer nicely, and will take a lot of layers without a waxy build-up that I have found with other pencils.  I will use this light layering technique lesson in my future coloring projects.

To finish the front, I added the tag to the card with foam tape.  I then added the Hugs die, which I had layered three times for dimension, with a green layer offset to help it stand out.  I added a curlique paper clip with ribbon and twine for details and texture.

Inside:  I faintly stamped the French Text , added a piece of torn card stock that I had used on the front, and a pear from the  Vegetable Medley background, which I had stamped onto a light green card stock scrap.

I hope you are inspired by my card today.  There are so many lovely new stamps in this release.  You can check them out HERE.

Don't forget to leave a comment for your entry to win a $25 IO gift certificate!

Impression-Obsession Summer Release Celebration Day 1

Welcome to Day One of the Impression Obsession
You will find a list of participants each day at 6 AM on the Impression Obsession Blog.
All of our design team blogs will have a
$25 gift certificate to give away for the event!
The more you comment through our
Release Celebration the more chances you have to win!
All comments for all of the event days will be open until Sunday, May 5th, at noon CT.
All winners will be announced Monday, May 6th.

You will find the new stamps HERE.  They are available now in the Impression-Obsession store.

For my card today, I used three of the fabulous new floral letters.

Impression-Obsession stamps:
Floral Y D12062
Floral O D12052
Floral U D12058
Life Stuff Sentiments CL491 (Celebrating)
Happy Birthday 1  C14778 (inside)
Square Vine Frame F12070 (inside)

On bristol vellum card stock, I stamped the Floral Letters to form 'YOU.'  I used my Misti to help with placement and alignment.  I water colored the letters with Arteza Real Brush Markers, using a water brush, to get the faded look on the insides of the letters.  I love the vivid colors in these markers, and that combined with water, I can achieve many different depths of color and highlighting.

I painted a white scrap with the same pink, and when dry, I stamped the word 'Celebrate' from part of one of the stamps in the Life Stuff Sentiments set, and lined it with striped pp, then added it above the YOU with foam tape.  This set has sentiments for many occasions, and I find myself reaching for it often.

I cut a little off the stamped panel, and added it to a pink A2 card front.  I added a narrow strip of the same striped pp to the bottom.  Some clear sequins finish the front pf my card.

For the inside, I used the Happy Birthday 1 stamp, with one side of the Square Vine Frame, along with a strip of the pp and sequins.

I hope you are inspired by my card.  There are so many fabulous new stamps in this release.  Be sure to check them out at the Impression-Obsession store HERE.

I am adding my card to these challenges:
Allsorts Challenge - Feminine
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything goes
Watercooler Wednesday - All About Occasions

Thank you for stopping by.  Come back tomorrow for Day 2 inspiration.   I appreciate you taking the time to visit.  Don't forget to comment for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate!

Die-Cut Obsession at Impression-Obsession - Spring In Bloom

Welcome to the Impression-Obsession Die Cut Obsession Day!  My card today features one of the new dies from the Spring Die Release.

Dies:  Stitched Flower Bouquet DIE806-ZZ
         All-In-One Frames Rectangle 2 DIE291-WW
Stamps:  Spring In Bloom C19941
              Spring Definition D14769

I created an inked background onto a piece of Arteza watercolor paper by adding die cut flowers from the Stitched Flower Bouquet randomly onto the watercolor paper.

I then brushed distress inks over the entire piece, blending my color areas for complete coverage.  I love the way the die cut flowers really popped.  Then I used the negative part of the Stitched Flower Bouquet die (the part left after cutting the flowers) as a 'stencil.'  I brushed color through the openings intermittently over the brushed background, which resulted in images of the dies appearing randomly.

I attached this panel to an A2 card front.  I framed the verse Spring In Bloom with one of the pieces of the All-In-One Frames Rectangle 2.  I love this frame die set, as it has so many interesting layers to the frames.  I find myself using it often.  I then added the sentiment and frame on with foam tape for dimension.

Inside:  I added the Spring Definition inside, and a tiny grouping of more of the die cuts.

Don't forget to check out what the other designers made today.  Links to their blogs are on the IO blog HERE

Bloom With Happiness

Happy Easter to all my fellow Christians, and happy Sunday to the rest of you lovely peeps!  It's my turn to post on the Technique Junkies blog today.  I know it's Easter Sunday, and dahlias are not the usual Easter flower.  But, I made this post a month ago, and there was still snow on the ground, and not so springy-like weather.  I wasn't thinking about the day this post would actually go live.  So, there you have it....Easter dahlias!  Maybe it's a new thing!
Technique Junkies stamps:
Dahlias S811
In Full Bloom Sentiments Set of 6 SS105

Collage Of Wishes

It's been 15 days since I had broken my wrist.  It feels like months!  It's my right hand, and that's my dominant side, so I haven't been able to do much at all with it. I tripped and hit the sidewalk face down.  I'm so thankful that the only thing broken was my wrist!  It could have been so much worse.  I am feeling very blessed.

So, onto my card, which I had actually made before that dreadful tumble.  It is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, Anything Goes, with optional springtime colors.  Be sure to visit the blog HERE for my fellow design-team peeps projects.
I used Penny Black's Collage Of Wishes 40-385 cling stamp.

I stamped it, then watercolored it using Daniel Smith watercolors.  I love these watercolors.  I have the basic set of six essentials, and the set of six Primatec.  With these twelve colors, I can mix any color imaginable.  I purchased them together through Dick Blick,  and got a free 238 watercolor sample card!  It's a fabulous deal, and Dick Blick has the best price, and free shipping offers.

When the images were dry, I fussy-cut them.

I die-cut a circle frame, using two circle dies, from metallic gold card stock.  I attached the die cut frame to a pale pink A2 sized card front.

I added various pieces of the fussy-cut image, attaching some directly to the card, and some with foam tape for dimension.

I love that this stamp comes with four sentiments, which all fit into the banner.

And for the inside...
I hope you will join us at Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  You can't win if you don't play, so come on over and join the fun.

I am adding my card to these challenges:
AAA Cards Challenge - Along the edge
Penny Black At Allsorts - Spring
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Spring mood
Paper Funday Challenge - Anything goes optional Easter

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  I appreciate you spending time with me.

Blessings.

Some Bunny Loves You Challenge at Impression-Obsession

Welcome to today's challenge, Bunny Love Challenge at Impression-Obsession.   All details about the challenge are on the IO blog HERE, with links to the other designer's posts.

I used my favorite bunny from the Spring Release, with one of the adorable verses from that release also.  This Floral Bunny is nice and big, with amazing details, and so adorable.  The verses and flowers from the Sweet Bunny  set give lots of options for 'dressing her up.'

IO Stamps:
Sweet Bunny WP927
Some Bunny Loves You D19926
Floral Bunny D23027

I stamped the Floral Bunny onto Arteza watercolor paper, and painted her with Daniel Smith watercolors.  I have the basic Essentials set of six, with the  PrimaTec six set, and am able to mix any color combination I can think of.  These are available now at 35% off, and come with a free sample chart of 238 watercolor paints when you buy the two sets.  Can't beat the prices at Dick Blick!

I also water colored some of the flowers from the set, and I fussy-cut all the pieces.

On a white card, I layered a piece of lavender card stock, and I tore a piece of green textured card stock and attached it to the bottom. I attached the bunny with foam tape, and added the flower headpiece and smaller flowers on the 'ground.'

I stamped the Some Bunny Loves You verse with VersaFine Claire nocturne ink.  I added a few assorted moonshine sequins in various sizes.

And for the inside:

I stamped the bunny from Sweet Bunny WP927 the set, along with a verse.

Personal note:  This card was made a few weeks ago, and the post was scheduled then to go live today.  Right now I am recuperating from some injuries I sustained when I met the sidewalk, literally, face-to-face.  Thankfully, the only thing broken was my wrist, unfortunately, the right, dominant hand.  So, it's been two weeks now.  The wrist is starting to feel somewhat better.  I still can't take off the brace except for showers, etc.  But I have tried some colored pencil, and have managed to do some...but very slowly.  I am trying to behave and let it heal, but it's so difficult staying away from my art!  I hope to be back full-time soon, and have more current posts.  Thankfully, I can still work on my computer!

Thanks so much for visiting today.  I appreciate you spending time here, and leaving your insights and comments.

Blessings,

Hello Friend!

Hello Friends!  Welcome to my blog.  I have a card to share with you today.

As some of you may know, I had a mishap several days ago, and among other things, broke my wrist. Fortunately, I had several cards made and posts blogged and scheduled in advance.  So, this was made and scheduled about two weeks ago.  I hope to be back in current time blogging soon, but it's a slow healing process, and I am learning the hard way to just relax and let it happen.

Now, on to my card, featuring one of Impression-Obsession's Spring Release dies...

Impression-Obsession Dies:
Friend DIE808-H
Stitched Tag DIE798-Y (inside sentiment banner from set)
IO Stamps:
Hello and How Are You from Sunshine Set MC660

I used my Arteza Real Brush markers to create a blended row of bright, lively colors on a piece of glossy card stock. Next, I die-cut the Friend die from white glossy card stock, and put the die cut itself aside.  I used the negative portion, the part left over after cutting, and placed it over the row of colors I had created.  I attached the pieces, and foam taped them to an A2 card front.

I stamped the word Hello from the Sunshine Set, and added some black pearls for a tad of embellishment.  I wanted to keep this CAS.
I am challenged when creating these types of cards, as I always want to add 'just something more.'  So I'm proud of myself for keeping it truly CAS!

On the inside, I sponged some distress inks in the same colors as are on the front.  I used the label portion of the Stitched Tag Die to stamp the verse from the Sunshine set.
Inside of card

I am adding my card to these challenges:
AAA Challenges  - Made in minutes
Addicted To Stamps - Anything goes
Dies R Us - Anything goes
Casology  - Plastic (dot embellishments)

I hope you like my card today, and found some inspiration here.  You can see all of the fabulous new dies in this release HERE.

Thanks for visiting, and for your kind comments.
