How I made it:

• 
  On watercolor paper, I created a watercolor background, using the
  smoosh method.  I rubbed some distress inks in red, pink, and brown onto my glass mat, then spritzed it with water.  I placed the watercolor paper panel into the inky goodness, and repeated this a couple of times.
• When dry, I stamped the Valentine Heart Border, using my Misti so that I could stamp a few times to get the most intense image.  I love the flowy, graceful curves of this stamp.
• I stamped the verse from the Anniversary Sentiments set in archival brown ink, again, in my Misti.
• I attached the panel to a light brown A2 card front. 
• INSIDE:  I stamped the Valentine Heart Border, then a verse from the same Anniversary Sentiments set.

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession - Cute Puppy Love

Today we are using our Impression Obsession dies on our cards.  I am also using one of the new stamps from the January release, Dog With Heart!

I seem to be using the brown and pink color scheme a lot lately.  I just love the way they look together.

How I made it:

• On a pink A2 card front, I stamped paw prints from the Silhoutte Kitties set - I also stamped some inside the card.

  

  
  

  
  
• I stamped the Dog With Heart image, and watercolored her with Derwent Inktense pencils, then fussy-cut and set aside.
• I layered two die cuts from the inside of the Woodgrain Frame onto the card front.
• I added a die cut of one of the Eyelet Primitive Hearts and stamped Love You from the To The Moon verse.
• I stamped the Sending you a hug verse from the Warm Fuzzies set on a die cut of the Loopy Border, and added it under the other dies, and added a twine string with bow.  
• I added the Dog With Heart that I had previously fussy-cut, and some tiny heart dies from the Mini Heart Row.
• INSIDE:  I stamped the Dog With Heart in the paw prints.

I had lots of fun creating this card with the cute little doggie and lots of fabulous IO dies.  I hope you get a chance to play with some of your dies and/or stamps this week.

Impression Obsession Old Is New With Valentine Card

Welcome to Impression Obsession's Old Is New.  It's time for our design team to share some inspiration using some of IO's older stamps.  I chose one of my favorite older stamp sets to feature on my card today.  

Impression Obsession stamps:

The LOVE block is a newer stamp, but the background is done with a stamp from our older set, My Funky Valentine .  I stamped the heart from the set onto some red distress patterned paper, using red ink.  I inked portions of the heart, and randomly stamped them all over the paper panel.

I used Polychromos colored pencils to color the background, adding deep and mid-range reds, then lighter reds, and some white for highlights.  I added this panel to a white A2 card front.

I stamped the Love Block Large onto the same paper, rounded the corners, and added it to a little larger panel of white with rounded corners.  I distressed the white piece, then added this panel to the card.  

I added some white ribbon, with a white bow and some fibers to finish the front.

Inside:  I stamped the other elements from the set with pink ink onto the same pp, and added it to the inside.

Hugs & Kisses Challenge at Impression Obsession

Hello friends!  Welcome to my blog.  Today I have a card for the Impression Obsession 'Hugs & Kisses Challenge.  I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.  Just make your hugs & kisses card or cards, and enter them HERE.  The deadline for your entry is February 18th.  Your posted card gets you a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the IO store!

So, here is my card for your inspiration.....

To make my card, I started with Strathmore Bristol Vellum, and stamped the heart image from the Wild Rose Heart Set, using VersaFine Clair nocturne ink.  Next, I stamped the stemmed wild rose branch inside.  I love that the heart has a space on the left and a space on the right, to fit either the words or some of the image, as I did here.  Since the stamps are clear, it was easy to place the flower branch so that the parts that I wanted would be in the spaces of the heart.
 
I decided the background was too plain, so I used painter's tape to tape sections off and brushed abandoned coral distress ink (lightly) in the sections, creating a wide-striped background.

I stamped the 'kisses' and the 'hugs' scripts from the same set inside the heart.  When everything was dry, I water colored the inside of the heart, and the image, with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.  

I stamped the 'Sending you a hug' verse from the Warm Fuzzies Sentiments set in one of the pink stripes.

I stamped a small twig from the Wild Rose Heart set onto a scrap of the vellum bristol, and water colored that, fussy-cut it, and added it to the card front under the verse.

I added this panel to a black A2 size card, trimming it so that a narrow black strip shows along the left side.

Some Studio Katia clear drops finish the front of the card.

Inside:  Some stamped branches in green, and a water colored, fussy-cut small rose, along with the 'XOXO' on a pink panel, with a some striped pp along the left.

That's it!  It was a fun card to make.

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession Valentine's Day Card

Today is Die Cut Obsession Day at Impression Obsession!  I decided to go Valentine's with my card today.

I love cream with red!  I added a die cut Heart Border to a cream A2 card front.  Then I added a die cut Eyelet Primitive heart in deep red.  The stitching detail on these eyelet hearts really give them a home-spun feel, don't you think?

The Happy Valentine's Day verse adds just a smidge of black.

A sheer ribbon and satin flower (which I had colored with a Copic marker to match the ribbon) top off the whole shebang.  This reminds me of one of those heart shaped boxes of chocolate!  Yummmm!

Love Birds

Today I pulled out my Winnie & Walter 'So Tweet' stamp set.  I wanted to make some Valentine cards, but I didn't want the traditional red and white and pink.  So...here is my non-traditional Valentine....

For the hearts, I punched some different size hearts from card stock, then sponged white ColorBox pigment ink through them onto kraft card stock, moving them around until I had what I wanted.  When dry, I colored the tops of the hearts in ombre fashion with colored pencils.

I stamped the love from the same set onto the bottom of the card, then the branch, and the birdy much sentiment.  I colored the love in with white acrylic paint, and went over the outline again with black permanent pen.  I attached the panel to a black A2 card.  Added a strip of black and white pp along the left edge.

For the birds, I watercolored them with Derwent Inktense pencils.  I added some white dots with a gel pen, fussy-cut the birds, and attached them with foam tape.  

All-in-all, an easy card, but a really fun one to make.

Today was a whirlwind of card-making.  I finished my cards for some challenges, and finished my Design Team cards for Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen and the Technique Junkies February blog hop/new stamp release coming up on February 1st.  

I made this card for the Impression-Obsession Challenge,'I Adore You.' 

 I used Impression-Obsession stamps Bailey Bunbun F19057 and Sending Love from the clear set Grunge Map CL671.

I started with a kraft card, and added a strip of black and white PP along the left edge (I distressed it with antique linen distress ink so it wasn't so white).  I used an old die from my stash (unknown) to cut hearts and added them to the card.  

I colored the bunny with Polychromos colored pencils, and added her with foam tape for dimension.  I added the verse, which I cut from a heart for her to told on to.

Some white dots and a little distressing with seedless preserves ink along the card edges finish this off.

In The Mood For Valentine's Cards!

What could be better than pink and red on a cold, snowy, blustery day?  OK....maybe wine, a box of chocolates, a good book, and a nice comfy corner of the couch with a thick, warm blankie.  Now....back to reality (at least for the moment - the wine, etc. thing is not off the table for later). I thought I'd get some of my Valentine's Day cards done.

         Spellbinders (Die D-Lites Love You)

I embossed the stamp with white embossing powder, then watercolored the images with distress inks. A little layering, and some crystal clear Spectrum Noir sparkle shimmer, and Nuvo Jewel Drops with Enamel Accents here and there finish off this easy-peasy card.

Verve Stamps Love Challenge Card

As promised, I'm back today with another card I made from the free Verve Stamps digital sheet (see yesterday's previous post for details).....

This card uses the same stamps, but has an entirely different feel to it.  Of course, the color is different, and also the layout.  I started with a pink A2 card and some stamped images from the above mentioned digital sheet.  I added a little coloring and sponging with distress inks, some layering and dies, fussy cutting, and a few black gems, with a strip of deco paper for a side border.  Easy-Peasy and so fun.
