Harvest of Friendship Challenge Card

What a glorious day it was here in upstate New York!  I was outside, working in my garden, and walking, and just enjoying nature's magnificent, colorful splendor.  

I am checking in with a quick post tonight.  When I finally dragged myself into the house, I felt like stamping some of the colors I'd been savoring all afternoon.  I kept my card very CAS, which is difficult for me.  I really had to make myself stop, when I wanted to do so much more!!!  But, I'm pleased with the results, and it is works well for the challenge.

 The stamps are from Just Rite.  They are part of the Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves clear stamps CR-03870.  I stamped the oak leaf onto a piece of watercolor paper, using Tim Holtz distress inks, and the Misti tool.  I then watercolored it with the same colors.  When it had dried, I stamped over it again, using the Misti for exact placement, to bring back the detail in the leaf.

With my Clarity brushes, I brushed some color around the edges of the panel, leaving a highlight around the leaf focal point.  A few spatters from my brush, and the sentiment.  I layered the panel onto an ochre card stock piece, tied a piece of fiber around, then added it to an A2 card with some craft foam for dimension.

I made this card for the Virginia's View challenge.  The theme is 'Focal point,' which is why I kept the card clean and simple, to really make the leaf stand out.
