Penguin JOY Die Cut Card

Hello, and welcome!  I have a cute little die cut penguin card to share with you today.
Impression Obsession Stamp Links:
Penguin DIE 899-V
Penguin Outfits DIE 888-0
Alphabet Plain Cap DIE158-H

I layered some patterned paper from my stash onto a green A2 card front, then added the die cuts from the Penguin DIE.  I used the Penguin Outfits DIE to cut the scarf, and added that to the little guy.

For the JOY banner, I used some string, and added some paper scrap rectangles, then added the letters from the Alphabet Plain Cap DIE . I have all of the letter dies, and love them for things like this.  I find them very useful.

Inside:
That's it!  An easy, fun holiday card using a most adorable die set!  The coordinating outfit set has lots of options also.  So much fun.

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession

Welcome to Impression Obsession's Die Cut Obsession.  For my card today, i used some dies from our Fall 2019 die release.

IO Stamps/Dies Links:
Layered Pinecone WP883 (Sending cheer verse)
Winter Foliage DIE907-YY
SCRIBBLE HEART DIE511-T
Stitched Tag DIE798-Y

I had fun creating this card.  Started with a copper shimmer card stock for the card, added some pp, then the SCRIBBLE HEART  die cut from copper, and the Winter Foliage die cuts from white.  Embossed in white the verse from the Layered Pinecone  set onto copper card stock, then cut with the die from the Stitched Tag  die set.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Now for more inspiration, be sure to check out the other designer's blogs. You can find links to their projects HERE, on the IO blog.

Impression-Obsession Old Is New - Double Cone Flower

Welcome to another Impression-Obsession Old Is New Day, where the IO artists are sharing a card using an older stamp.

I chose the Double Cone Flower stamp for my card today.  This flower is a little different, in that the outside is all solid.  That is the part that actually 'stamps.'  The image is etched in, with the petals, leaves, and other parts recessed into the rubber, which creates the open areas.

Stamps:

I inked the Double Cone Flower image with wild honey distress ink, using my Misti so that I could do repeat stamping, as the watercolor paper I stamped on had a lot of texture to it.

I used Caron D'Ache watercolor crayons to paint the background, and the petals and leaves.  I built the color up gradually on the background, getting variances in color for interest.

When dry, I used Polychromos colored pencils to add shading and details to the petals of the flowers and the leaves.  I used the Caran D'Ache crayons to add color to the French Text CAC stamp, then spritzed it with water and stamped it on the background.  (I had masked off the flowers before I did this step).

I layered this panel onto a white panel, then onto a mustard yellow panel, and finally onto a white card.  I stamped the 'Enjoy your special day' verse from the the Life Stuff Sentiments set onto the mustard piece.

Finally, on the image panel, I added a the Happy Birthday die from the DIE234-M die.

And for the inside:

I hope you like my card, and are enjoying this Designer Sale feature at the Impression-Obsession blog.  You can find projects by the other designers on the IO blog post HERE.

Penny Black Thank You Card

Hello my lovelies, and welcome!  Today's card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge mid-way post.  The theme this month is Anything goes...with the option of Black & White and one other color.  Here's my take....
Penny Black stamps:
Special Thoughts Clear Set 30-338
Collage of Wishes
Softly 40-319 (flowers)
Promenade 25-00 (stencil/inside)

YouTube Video:

So for my 'one other color' I went with orange, trying to keep things a little seasonal.  The gray is just a lighter version of black.  That's my story!

I was going for a CAS look, but think it may be a little over for true CAS fans, since I added the verses, layers and the Studio Katia Silver Foil Pearls embellishments.  I love these embellishment pearls in silver and also in gold.  Perfect accent for so many pieces.  And super for the holidays!

For the how-to, I just stamped the flowers with Nocturne VersaMark Clair ink, then colored them with Copic markers.  I embossed the Thanks onto a scrap white panel, layered that onto black, then onto a white A2 card front.

I embossed the 'for all you do' from the same set, with white on black, and added that with foam tape.  Then the embellies for the finishing touch.

Inside:  Stencil with distress inks, and the gratitude stamp.
I have a YOU TUBE video for this card.  Here is the link so you can view it if you like.

Ponder Anew - Distress Inks With Watercolor

Hello, and welcome.  Today I have a tutorial video for a card using distress ink techniques with watercolor using the Misti stamping tool and Impression Obsession stamps.  I have had requests to show how I do this, so today's blog has some details, and the rest is in my YouTube video...

Impression Obsession stamp links:
Chinese Lantern
Cover A Card French Text
Boho Star
Ponder Anew

I started with Arteza watercolor paper in my mini Misti.  I added some distress ink, and stamped the lantern image.  I kept adding colors, and using a waterbrush to pull the color from the edges.

I added some distress refill ink to a ceramic tile for a palette, and painted the inks onto the lanterns, creating depth and light areas.  I used Polychromos colored pencils to add more details, depth, and shading.  I used the Misti to stamp again after coloring to bring back the details.

The background is distress inks applied with the waterbrush, then the French Text and Boho Star were added, along with the verse stamped on a separate panel and added.  Some distressing was also applied along the edges.  This is all shown in detail in the video.

I hope you like my card, and will watch my video.
Please give me a thumbs up on YouTube if you like it.

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession - Coffee & Cocoa

Welcome to Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession.  My card today features some of the new IO dies from the latest die release.
Dies:  Coffee & Cocoa DIE882-V
         Typewriter Sentiments DIE905-Y
         Small Snowflakes DIE100-F

I just adore this Coffee  Cocoa  set!  They're just the right
http://shrsl.com/1v354

size to fit two on a card, and still have room for more elements.  With the fun spoon, marshmallows, and whipped cream you can create some yummy winter treats!

I used a red A2 card base, and layered white , then a strip of red and white patterned paper.  I used a Copic marker to color one of the stripes on the paper blue to match the blue card stock I layered on next.
http://shrsl.com/1v35c
I assembled the cups with their treats, and some snowflakes, and added them to the cups with foam tape.  A baker's twine ribbon is tie around one of the handles.

The 'merry' is from theTypewriter Sentiments, layered onto a piece of blue card stock.

And the inside:

I love the way red, white, and aqua look together.  One of my favorite Christmas color combos!

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Now for more inspiration, be sure to check out the other designer's blogs.  You can find links to their projects HERE, on the IO blog

Christmas Rose Card

Hello, and welcome to my blog.  Today I am sharing my post from the Technique Junkies blog.  You can find the post HERE.

Technique Junkies stamps:
     Christmas Rose JT025
Victorian Greetings Set of 6  JT030
A Colorful Life Swirl Grid Stencil
Gifts of Christmas Set of 5

I used watercolor and Polychromos colored pencils to color the rose image.  I painted the image, then added details, shading, and highlights with my pencils.  I love Polychromos pencils, as I can add layers upon layers without getting a waxy build-up that I get from other pencils.  I added some Studio Katia sparkling crystals for embellishment.
