How I made it:

• On ivory card stock, I stamped the Three Wise Kitties image.
• I colored the images with Polychromos colored pencils.
• I used the Cute Scalloped Rectangles die to cut the panel, and layered it with gold, ivory, and green card stock onto an ivory A2 card front.
• I stamped and added the Merry Christmas banner with foam tape. 
  
  
  

And that's it!  I love these cute little wise kitties!  I used a gold gel pen to color their crowns and some of the elements they are holding.

Wintery Christmas Card

 

Dreaming of a white, or pink, Christmas!

I hope you are enjoying your holiday preparations.   Thanksgiving here was quiet, just hubby and myself, with our furry loveball, Bella.  Fingers are crossed that we can be with the kids for Christmas, but, we are prepared for the possibility of that not being possible, due to restrictions and safety concerns.  We would rather miss one holiday season together to be able to be together for the rest of our live's worth.

Penny Black Christmas Poinsettia Card

 

Greetings, and happy Saturday.  Today is the midway point of the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  The theme this month is Anything Goes, with optional Bingo.  

 

For my card today, I chose a couple of much older Penny Black stamps from my stash.

 

With the holly swirl stamp, I colored the stamp with distress inks, and stamped it onto a cream card stock panel.  I repeated this inking and stamping all the way around the cardstock, creating a holly border

 

For the main image, I inked the poinsettia stamp, and stamped it onto a piece of vellum.  I added some spatters of distress ink, and the verse.

 

I attached the vellum to the holly panel with brads, and outlined the holly panel with my gold leafing pen.

 

I attached the panel to a red card front.

 

That's it.  I just love the Penny Black brush stamps.  They make it easy to create pretty cards that look watercolored.

Watercolor Holly Card - Impression Obsession Old Is New Day

It's Old Is New Day at Impression Obsession, 

a day for us to use our older stamps and show them some inky love.  

This Watercolor Holly just fit my mood today. 

 I wanted to play with inks and water, and there it was!

And here's how I made my card:

• On recycled bristol card stock, I used my Misti to stamp the
  
  
  Watercolor Holly image.  I used light green for the first stamping.
• I added various colors of distress ink, using the minis for this, spritzing lightly with water between stampings.  I repeated several times, until I had the look I was going for.
  
• With a wet paintbrush, I added some of the same colors around the background.
• When it was bone dry, I used a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen to outline some of the areas on the image.  I did this one section at a time, so it wouldn't dry, then added gold embossing powder and heated to add the gold highlights.
• I made some dots with the pen, and embossed them.
• I gold embossed the Simple Joys verse.
• INSIDE:  I lightly stamped portions of the Celebrate His Love image, then stamped the  verse with gold pigment ink.

Embossed Winter Wonderland Card

You're right, it's not winter, yet.  In fact, in our little part of the world, we are enjoying the crisp fall breezes and abundant rich colors in our trees.  But, winter is coming, and along with it comes Christmas.  So, I've been busy creating Christmas cards for the releases for my design team projects.  This is one of my favorites.

How I made it:

• On a white smooth bristol panel, I used distress ink and ink applicators to create a background, starting dark along the edges, and graduating to a pale white moon effect in the center.  I added some white pigment ink to this center so that it would give the white haze around the 'moon.'
• I white embossed the Fir Forest, and tore some white card stock and added it to create snowy hills.
• Some spatters of white acrylic paint created the snow.
• I white embossed the verse from the Oh Christmas Tree Set onto vellum, and attached it.  I attached the panel to a white A2 card front.

Christmas Gnome With Candy Cane Card

 Hello!  Today I share a cute little gnome that I made 'Christmasy' by adding a candy cane and some snow.  This adorable little guy is from the Technique Junkies October 2020 release.

Here's how I made my card:

• On a piece of bristol card stock, I stamped one of the gnomes from the  Gnome For Christmas Set of 6 set and colored it with Arteza real brush markers.
• I brushed distress ink on the background and used white pigment with an eraser and embossing tool to dot on snowflakes.  I used a mask to keep the snow hill area white.
• I stamped the Candy Cane and colored with Arteza markers.  I fussy-cut the candy cane.
• With a craft knife, I cut around the gnome's gloves, and inserted the candy cane underneath, gluing it to the card, to appear as he is holding it.
  
• I ran a red mini stamp pad along the edges of the panel, and added it to a layer of red and white striped pp, red card stock and onto a white A2 card.
• The verse is from the Gnome For Christmas Set.

I really had fun creating this little card.  These gnomes are charming, and add whimsy to our projects.

Santa Mail Collage Card With Distress Ink

I have another card using stamps from the Technique Junkies October 2020 Release.  I love the Snow Covered Pines, and I thought I would use the Santa Mail stamps with it, to create a collage of sorts.

Classic Harlequin Stencil - A Colorful Life Designs

How I made it:

• I created a collage background on ivory card stock by distressing the panel with antique linen and brushed corduroy distress ink.  I applied the ink with brush ink applicators, and took much of the color off onto scrap paper to achieve a soft, pale look.  
• Using a diamond stencil from my stash, I added some faint diamond sections here and there with the Classic Harlequin Stencil .
  
  
  
• Using a snowflake from the Snowflakes Set of 9, I stamped it lightly in some areas.
• Inking some of the script parts of the Van Gogh's Letter stamp, I stamped it lightly around the panel in various areas. 
• I added some spatters of distress inks to finish the panel, tied some twine around it, and attached it to the card front.  (I added cracked pistachio distress ink around the edges of a white card front before adhering the panel). 
• I inked the Snow Covered Pines with some green distress inks, and stamped it onto a scrap of bristol.  I cut it to fit inside a frame, which I had cut from a postage stamp die from my stash.
• I stamped the pieces from the Santa Mail Set of 2 with brown, then added them and the postage pine panel to the card front.
• INSIDE:  I used the inside of the postage die I stamped, and a portion of the mail stamps, and stamped the verse from the Oh Christmas Tree Set set.  I watercolored a strip of scrap bristol with the colors I was using, and added that along the edge.

Impression Obsession Die-Cut Obsession - Mistletoe

Welcome to Impression-Obsession's Die-Cut Obsession!  

Today we are featuring IO's unique dies on our blogs.  

I chose a Christmas card, using the Mistletoe dies.

 

Dies/Stamps:  Mistletoe DIE1025-L

                     Christmas Love D20870

 

How I did it:

• I created a green A2 card and layered a cream panel onto the front.  
• I stamped the verse with white pigment ink onto light green cs, and added that panel over the cream panel.
• I cut the mistletoe die from gold card stock and cream shimmer card stock.  I layered and arranged the pieces onto the card. 
• INSIDE, I layered the card stock panels, and added one of the branches from the die in gold.

This is an easy card to make, yet the shimmer from the gold and cream card stock adds elegance.

It's Monday, and time for Impression Obsession's Die Cut Obsession feature.  We are featuring IO's fabulous dies on our blogs today.  I have been working on some holiday cards, so here is my card for today.

I cut the Coffee To Go cup die from kraft and white card stock.  I used my Martha Stewart scoring tool to create the scores in the coffee cup sleeve.  I cut the Snowflake Frame from white glitter card stock.  I layered the pieces together, and added them to an A2 red card, with some snowflake patterned paper. 

Inside, I used a portion of the frame die, and the verse from the Thank you set.

Impression Obsession Old Is New

Today we are featuring some of our older images on our projects.  

I have been working on holiday cards, and thought I would use this lovely bouquet from last year's fall release.  It is meant as a fall bouquet, but I felt it also works well for Christmas.

I masked off an area on a natural A2 card front with painter's tape, then brushed a background with distress ink.  I added a swirl grid stencil design to the background.

I stamped the Fall Florals onto white bristol vellum, and colored it with Polychromos colored pencils. 

I fussy cut the image, added it to the card front, and stamped the Every Blessing verse to finish the card.  It's a quick, easy card, yet the image gives it elegance.

Welcome to Impression Obsession's Die Cut Obsession Day.  Today we are featuring IO's dies on our blogs.  I just adore this moose!  It has so many possibilities for cards.

From some red and black plaid pp, I die cut the Moose die.  I cut it again from red card stock, and layered the die cuts, to give him some stability.

I used the VersaMark pad and clear embossing powder to add two layers of clear embossing to the die cut, then added it to a Kraft A2 card front.  I used colored pencils to scribble some ground for him to walk on.

I cut the Merry Christmas from red glitter paper, and added it, along with some decorative black pearl embellishments. The Merry Christmas die cut is from a portion of a die that says Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I just cut off the Merry Christmas after I created the die cut.

Quick And Easy Holiday Cards

It's time for another Impression Obsession challenge.  This time the theme is Quick and Easy Holiday Cards.  I had a bunch of die cuts from some of my Christmas dies, so decided to use those.  What could be quicker and easier than adding some dies to a background?!

Love the touch of silver for the 'joy, and the ticking background.  When I am not feeling particularly creative, but want to stamp, I stamp several backgrounds from my CAC stamps, then I have them when I need a quick background for a quick card.  Some holiday dies over it and Voila!  A quick and easy holiday card.
