In real life, the trellis panel is the same color as the card. It did not photograph well. |
I'm not sure what happened between the finished stamping, and the finished card!
To create the scene, I used Art Impressions stamps, and Tombow markers. The pot was stamped first, then watercolored with color from the markers rubbed onto a palette, then used as watercolor. For the flowers, I used the markers on each individual flower and foliage, and arranged them in the pot the way I wanted them. Each element was inked, then stamped onto the arrangement at least five times, creating dimension and depth. This technique is demonstrated beautifully in the YouTube video Watercolor the Art Impressions Way. Bonnie really does a great job of showing how to build up the scenes, and how to use the stamps.
I used my Spellbinders circle dies for the image, and my Impression-Obsession die152-N with glitter card stock for the border piece behind the image. I embossed friend, from Printworks friendship and flowers set, onto a scrap piece of card stock.
The little 'sprinkles' are the middles of the trellis background. I just glued them around here and there for interest.
I hope you will take a few moments to look up this technique on YouTube. It really is very fun, and there are so many possibilities. I am addicted!
