Technique Junkies January, 2019 Stamp Release And Hop

Welcome to the New Year!  And to the Technique Junkies January Stamp Release and Blog Hop!

I have two cards to share with you today...

Full details below.  Come along and hop with us.  Be sure to check out all the design team blogs for tons of inspiration.  All the Design Team's blogs are linked HERE at the Technique Junkies blog.
Now for my cards.  Card 1:
Stamps:  Cat Frame
             Cat Greetings

I stamped the Cat Frame onto bristol vellum card stock with black ink, and colored him with Faber Castell Pitt Pastel pencils. I love that the pastels let the distinct markings of the stamping really show, and I was able to blend and stress shadows and highlights with them.
I cut the design out along the framed rectangle on the stamp, and attached it to a piece of lime card stock, to match the cat's eyes.

For the background on the card front, I made faux ship lap.  I used my Martha Stewart score board to score lines evenly spaced down a gray card stock panel.  On the same side (the side with the score indentations), I placed a ruler next to the first line, and ran the very edge of my Ranger Archival watering can ink pad along the ruler, right over the line.  I just tipped the inkpad so that I was just getting the edge.  I repeated this all along the scores.
Then I took the pad, and lightly ran it down the panels to get just a little ink on the 'boards' to distress them.  I saw this technique in Dawn's YouTube video HERE.

I stamped the verse and added the cat panel to finish the card.  Here's the inside.  I'm sure all of you who are owned by felines understand this humor!

On to card # 2....

 Stamps:  You Stole My Heart
               All Shapes
              Love Harlequin background

I stamped the Love Harlequin background onto pink card stock with worn lipstick distress ink, and added it to a red A2 card front.  I stamped the You Stole My Heart stamp and the little doggie from the All Shapes stamp onto white card stock and colored with Polychromos Colored Pencils.

I use some heart dies from my stash to die cut the images, and layered them onto the card front with foam tape for added dimension.

For embellishment, I used some small die-cut hearts I had in my stash, and scattered them about.

A little worn lipstick distress ink brushed along the image dies added sort of a spotlight effect.

I just adore this stamp set, and the little guy from the All Sizes set really complemented it for my card.

I hope you are inspired by my cards.  All new release stamps are 15% off through January 8th.  And if you use my code, TJ10Lynda, you can take 10% off the rest.
