Knitting Chicken Christmas Card

So, today I pulled out my Christmas cards.  As a knitter, the chicken knitting a Christmas stocking by Penny Black is one of my favorites.  Here's the card I made using her, and a few other PB stamps......

As I mentioned, the chicken is Penny Black (Christmas Knit 3285J).  I used Polychromos colored pencils to color her.  I wanted to make this a one layer card, so I needed more than just the chicken, so I drew the doodle border with my .01 micron pen.  From the top of the border, I drew lines to 'hang' the stars and ornaments, also PB from Mimi's Christmas 30-061.  I stamped the verse, PB ...a merry Xmas 2764F, then brushed some distress ink inside the border, and penciled a floor.  Then I colored the ornaments and stars, and the border, and finally added some Spectrum Noir clear shimmer glitter to the ornaments and the fur on the Santa hat.

It's a simple card today, but I had fun with it.  I am adding my card to these challenges:

The Daily Marker - 30 Day Color Challenge Day 28!!
Penny Black Saturday Challenge  - One Layer Card
Penny Black At Allsorts  - Anything Goes

Little Red Wagon - Christmas In July

Two more days to go with the 30 day color challenge.  Then I can go back to posting a couple of times a week.  Every day is a bit difficult to do, but I was determined to complete the challenge!

Thanks for visiting.  Hope my Christmas card makes you feel cooler!

Blessings,

lynda
