All comments for all of the event days will be open
until April 13th at noon CT.
Winners will be announced on April 14th.

I have two more cards to share with you today.
Card One:

Hollyhocks CC408
In My Heart D13912
Hollyhocks DIE169-R
INSIDE

I used my Misti to stamp the Hollyhocks onto Canson bristol XL recycled paper.  I repeated stamping, using different shades of pinks and violets.  I removed the paper from the Misti, and used distress reinkers to paint the petals.  I added additional details with colored pencils.  I used blue distress ink for the background.

I die cut the Hollyhocks die, and painted them with the distress ink colors that I had used on the Hollyhocks.

I added the In My Heart verse on a strip of the same paper, using foam tape for extra dimension.

Card Two:
Flora & Fauna CL1025
Flower Bits CL1024

I stamped the images from both sets onto bristol card stock, and colored them with Polychromos colored pencils, then fussy-cut them out.
INSIDE

For the panel base, I used a happy birthday embossing plate from my stash.  I brushed some distress ink over it to help the words stand out a bit more.  I attached the panel to a green A2 card front.

I arranged and adhered the flowers and foliage to the card.  On the inside, I used the D20728 Special Day stamp.

I hope you like my cards.
I will be back tomorrow with more cards.  You can find links to the other designer's posts on the Impression Obsession blog HERE.

All comments for all of the event days will be open

Winners will be announced on April 14th.

I have two very different cards for your inspiration today.

Camelia CC409
In My Heart D13912
French Text CC151
Strong For Long E12238 (inside)

I embossed the Camelia onto watercolor paper with white embossing powder.  I painted the image and background with Daniel Smith watercolors.

When dry, I masked the image, and stamped the French Text onto the background.

I dyed a strip of vellum with blue ink, the embossed the In My Heart verse on it, and attached it to the panel.

I attached the panel to a white card front, and added some pearl sequins.

Inside:

I used the Strong For Long verse with blue Ranger Archival ink, and stamped the Camelia with distress ink.

Card 2:
Beach Bunny F13914
Vitamin Sea CL1025 (inside verse)

I just adore this sweet little bunny on the beach with her polka dot umbrella!

I stamped the Beach Bunny onto watercolor paper, and painted her with a water brush and distress ink refills.  I also created the background with the inks.

I added the panel to an A2 card front, and added a strip of black and white striped patterned paper along the edge.

I stamped the Sweet, sweet summer verse from the Vitamin Sea set onto a scrap and added it to the card with foam tape for dimension.

Inside:
Verse is from the Vitamin Sea set.

That's it for today.  I will be back tomorrow with more cards from the summer release.  Be sure to hop on over to the other designer's blogs.  You can find links to their posts on the Impression Obsession blog HERE.

I Tried Running

Happy Tuesday!  I thought this was a good day for a little comedic relief from the stress of the Corona virus pandemic.
Some days I have anxiety and stress issues, like so many others.  I find if I limit the amount of news I watch, and take time to create, pray, work in my garden, and reach out to family and friends in small ways, I am more at peace.

I try to send out a few cards a day to people we know (I have a large, LARGE stash of cards), with inspiring and comforting sentiments.  When I've gone through the people I know, I will  go through our church directory, and start sending cards to others.  It brings me joy to think that my card may be a bright spot in someone's day.

I had to smile when I saw this stamp from the Technique Junkies April release.  I know several people who would love to receive this.

I stamped the Tried Running stamp onto white card stock, and colored it with Polychromos colored pencils. I used the Rays Stencil to create the yellow rays in the background, using an applicator brush with distress ink.

A little layering onto a gray A2 card, and that was that.

Inside:  Verse from the Technique Junkies Modern Encouragements set.
All new release stamps are 15% off through April 8th.  Use my code for an additional 10% off.  TJ10Lynda.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you find some joy in your day today.  Stay safe and healthy.

Thinking Of You Card For Penny Black Challenge

I have a card today for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge
I used Penny Black stamp 40-453 Passionate, along with the thinking of you verse from the Collage of Wishes set.

I stamped the Passionate image onto Strathmore Bristol vellum with distress inks, then use Polychromos colored pencils to bring out the details.

Some PB background stamps and ink blending created the background.

I stamped the verse from the Collage of Wishes set, then added some faint images with some older PB stamps in the background.  A spatter of ink and a silk ribbon and bow finish off the panel, which I attached to a green A2 card.

The theme of the Penny Black Saturday Challenge is always Anything Goes.  The optional extra this month is Ribbon and/or twine.  I hope you will join us, and maybe even win a prize!  Details are on the PBSC blog HERE.

Thank you for your visit to my blog today.  Stay well and healthy.  Prayers for our countries, and for our world!

I have two cards for your inspiration today.

Friends Are Flowers

                                In Full Bloom Sentiments

This is a fabulous background stamp.  I stamped and white embossed the Poppies and Roses onto craft card stock.  I used distress reinkers to paint the flowers.  I started with one layer of color, then when that was dry, added another layer.  I repeated this, depending on the color, two or three times, for a total of four or five layers altogether.  I was careful not to add too much water, so as not to pill the card stock.

I embossed the verse from the In Full Bloom Sentiments set, under the watercolored panel.  Added a matching ribbon, then attached the panel to a craft A2 card front.

Your Own Kind of Beautiful
Stamps:  Lotus Corner
              Own Kind of Beautiful

This is a one layer card!  I stamped the Lotus Corner stamp with light pink distress ink onto very pale pink card stock.   When that was dry, I used Polychromos colored pencils to add highlights and shading, and deepen the color.
I added the Own Kind of Beauty verse with Ranger Archival Ink.  To create the illusion of dimension, I drew a line around the image and verse, using the fine tip of a gray Tombow marker.  I created a mask to cover the image area, and brushed pink distress ink along the outside of the area.
I hope you like my cards.  Be sure to check out the other designers' cards, using the links below:
