Missing You Challenge Card - Simon Says Stamp

This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge .  It's Stamptember at SSS, and they are showcasing lots of new merchandise.
There is lots of glimmery shimmer on the flowers in real life...doesn't show up in photo
I started with some highly textured card stock...it's similar to watercolor paper,  only more deeply textured, and it doesn't take water as well.  But I love it for the texture and sturdiness.  I inherited almost a full ream of this card stock when I was working.  I was the secretary at my church, and one day when I was inventorying the supply closet, I came across the package.  I asked the pastor what it was for.  He didn't know, so I proceeded to ask the rest of the staff, and nobody knew.  So he said I could take it if I had a use for it.  I sure snatched that up in a hurry!

So, onto the card....I made the A2 card and put it aside.  Then I stamped the flowers from the Simon Says Stamp Artful Flowers clear stamp set SSS101488 onto another piece of the paper, using TH distress inks, and fussy cut them out.

On another piece of the same paper, I used my Ranger mini misters.  I put a few drops of different ink refills into four of the misters, then added a little water.  Then the fun began.  I spritzed and sprayed some of each of four colors onto the paper, making sure to get different colors all over.  I let a bit of the white show through, so that the effect of the sprays is evident.  It was so much fun....I just love to play with inks!

A trip to the heat tool to dry my piece, then I proceeded to assemble the card.  I cut a strip of the sprayed paper, and attached it along the left side of the card front.  It looked a little plain, so I cut a couple of narrow strips of purple glitter card stock to put along the left and right edge of the strip, then spattered the ink colors with my brush onto the rest of the card.

I selected some of the flowers that I had fussy cut, and arranged them pleasingly (is that a word?) onto the card front, using foam tape and curling the edges of the flowers up and under for added dimension.

The 'missing you' verse is from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greetings set SSS101627.

Some glimmer from the Spectrum Noir clear glitter brush on the flowers and along the edge, and I was finished.  It was a fun card to make.  Now I will make some variations with the rest of the flowers that I had cut out, and the rest of the card stock that I spattered and misted and sprayed!

I am also adding my card to these other challenges:

Cas-ual Fridays Challenge  - Dimension and bling!

Love to Scrap Challenge - Flower Power

Virginia's View Challenge - Spray, mist, and spatter

Thank you for stopping by today.  Be sure to check out these challenges if you get a chance.

Blessings,

lynda
