Impression-Obsession Challenge - Moody Blues

Welcome to Impression-Obsession's 'Moody Blues' Challenge!  You can find links to all the designer's posts, as well as challenge details, on the IO blog HERE.

I used a stamp from the fall/winter release for my 'blue' card today....

Pixel Poinsettia CC362
You're The Best C21211
DIE805-YY Checkered Frames
DIE385-B Love
Alphabet Plain LC DIE1578-E

I started with bristol smooth card stock, and my Misti.  I placed the panel and the stamp in the Misti, then added some broken china distress ink and stamped the image.  I inked it again, then spritzed a fine mist of water and stamped it over the previous stamping.

I inked it with a darker blue, with my mini distress ink pads, keeping the darker color close to the inside, and along the areas I wanted shading to occur.  I used a dauber to blend out the darker color on the stamp before stamping it.  I repeated this, using darker blues, a few times, until I achieved the look I wanted.  I also added some pine green for the leaves of the poinsettia.

I added the Checkered Frames die along the edge, and trimmed the panel even with the edge of the die cut.  I mounted this onto another gold panel, then onto a blue A2 card.
INSIDE

I added the Love die and the letters to spell 'you.'

Some clear droplets from Studio Katia finish off the card front.  I love these drops...they add just the right touch.

Inside:
I stamped the poinsettia image with white pigment ink on the inside.  I stamped 'You're the best,' and added it, with a gold layer.

I hope you like my card, and will join us in the Moody Blues challenge.  Get your 'blue' on, and come on over.  Who knows, you just might win a gift certificate to the Impression-Obsession store!

I am adding my card to these challenges:
Addicted To Stamps - Make your mark
The Flower Challenge - Favorite flower
Make My Monday  - Friendship
Simon Says Wednesday - Add a die cut
Watercooler Challenges - Feminine anything goes

Thanks for dropping in today.  I appreciate your comments.

Blessings,
