Sending Hugs Impression-Obsession Challenge

Top O' the mornin' to you!  Welcome to another Impression-Obsession challenge.  The theme is 'Sending Hugs.'  With St. Patrick's Day coming up soon, I decided to go green.

Stamps:  Shaded Clover L16431
              All Year Long C5328
Dies:        Hugs DIE516-A
               Shamrock DIE065-AA

I started with Strathmore smooth bristol paper in my Misti.  I inked the Shaded Clover stamp with Shabby Shutters distress ink, stamping off some of the color before I stamped it.  I then added the definition and shading with my Arteza Real Brush markers.  I was able to blend these colors on the stamp, sometimes misting ever so slightly with fine mist of water between to get the colors to blend well.

When that was finished and dry, I added some colored pencil shading and highlights with my Polychromos colored pencils.

For the verse, I used the All Year Long sentiment.  A strip of card stock dyed to match the clover, and a strip of gold balance the image.  The Hugs DIE is cut from gold paper to carry the gold over.

And for the inside:

I hope you will join us in this challenge.  You have until March 19th to get your cards in for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Impression-Obsession store.

  2. Lynda this is so gorgeous in every way. The shading and blending on the shamrocks is perfect. I love all that green and the pop of gold for the sentiment.
